    Description

Am Leonard a medical officer married to my beautiful wife Ingrid a nurse with two amazing children and as a family, we reside in the out skirts of Jinja City one of the oldest and first towns to be established in Uganda the Pearl of Africa.

Jinja was established in 1901 as a British administrative Centre and is endowed with many beautiful tourists’ attraction sceneries like the Source of the Nile a home to beautiful birds like the kingfisher, the rapid and fast water falls that attract kayakers, rafters and Bange Jumping. Jinja has got the Monument of John speak where he stood on his discovery of the Nile River and also the great philosopher Mahatma Ghandi.

The people of Jinja are so vibrant, welcoming with a rich culture of the Basoga tribe with varieties of languages and foods that I bet if you visited, will keep you coming again and again and as new your family away from home, we will always welcome you with open hands, show you around to experience it all from cultural dances, to foods and languages.

Jinja holds the biggest percentage of my childhood memories, both good and bad, hard and smooth. It was by God’s grace, that I made it to medical school where I as well met Ingrid. On several mornings on my way to work, I came across street children, neglected and vulnerable children around our home village and this kept pondering me and reminded me of my own childhood background.

After a long time, One day we sat as a couple on how best we could give a life back and restore the lost hope of our community which ended with us establishing a charity organization in our community with a aim of supporting needy children and their families to develop our communities where we hail from. We got established and registered in Kaliro town and embarked on a journey to track down needy children together with their families in and around Kaliro, and one of the major strategy we had is to support families to be self-sustainable and reliable so they can be able to support their needy children. For the needy children with no families, we searched for their closest relatives or foster families to take them in with our support at the back of it all and making them self-sustainable.

Many needy vulnerable children are still out there fighting for survival on their own and although they keep knocking on people’s doors for support, they are not willing to take them in.

We're now registered in the USA, Texas as a 503(c)(1) charity and together with our US Based Admins, we believe the only way to liberate the African child is by sending them back to school to turn them into responsible and employable citizens who will as well develop our communities and our mother land Uganda at large.

We do look forward to meet passionate and compassionate friends ready to pass on any talent or skills or gifts to the children, youth, widows and their families for a better self-reliable and sustainable families hence community development not forgetting helping out on administration skills like secretarial, fundraising, advertising, and computer literacy. hour visitors will not be allowed to help out with any work or chores at the children's home that we do run but to help in communities to share a skill with the children, youth and women whom we work with in communities around Kaliro district.

Our doors are always open to you all who would love to visit and leave a foot print on the hearts of our community people from young to the elderly.

    With kindness and Love
    Leonard & Ingrid
