    Description

I left the corporate world in 2020 to dedicate all my resources to transform, grow and run a small organic farm producing olives and wine in Sardinia. Moreover my childhood dream was to live with horses. Today I am fortunate to share my life and passion 24/7 with several horses, donkeys, goats, dogs and cats.

Experience the rural life in an organic micro-farm in rural Sardinia. Learning to live with scarce natural resources. Get an insight into a best-in-class place for horse wellness and care.

Apart from the white amazing beaches, Sardinia is said to be one of the best kept cultural secrets in Europe. The most known attraction maybe the more than 3000+ nuraghe all over the island. In short they are megalithic constructions - often entire villages - built between 1900 AND 730 BC.

In some of the nearby villages (Loceri, Cardedu, Lanusei) there is literally an event every weekend around the year. These folklore events are related to saints, food (wine, seasonal products, specialities) and more! You will see women wear local dresses and proud men riding Sardinian horses. But these beautiful events are never really announced. Only the locals know, and I will be happy to share all related information to be able to entirely benefit from these really unique experiences!

I have 2 very specific prerequisites for workawayes considering to seek a place at my farm:

    1. Must have at least 5 years of experience caring for horses (see below description).
    2. Must be able to provide simple first aid to horses incl. muscle injections, putting on bandages, cleaning wounds.

In summary I need primarily help with the care and welfare of my horses and other animals. This includes mucking out stables, cleaning paddocks, grooming, feeding, maintaining horse equipment, handwalking and turning into pasture and turnout. I have a mix of young and retired elderly horses.

In exchange I would be keen to learn new horsemanship techniques and benefit from horse wellness practises such as T-Touch (that I practice myself) and horse massage from the workawayers.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Private fully equipped apartment at the farm. 1 meal/week will be shared with the host. A budget of € 100 / week will be provided to the workawayer to buy his/her own food.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    Only non-smokers.

Minimum stay is 6 months in order to get to know my horses and build a good and harmonious relationship with all of them.

A car is available as there is no public transportation nearby. There is no biking culture in Sardinia, hence biking as a means of transport is dangerous

Last but not least, a preference will be given to vegetarian workawayers as I wish that no meat is consumed at my place.
