Description
Hello! Help on a Glamping farm in the Wicklow Mountains with gypsy caravans, horses, donkeys and lots of friendly guests from around the world. We are Neasa and Alan and our little toddler Lena and we run our family farm where we offer horse drawn caravan holidays, donkey walking holidays and unique accommodation farm stays with glamping. We are based on the edge of the Wicklow Mountains National Park in an area of real natural beauty with plenty of hikes and activities on our doorstep and a farm of 100 acres to explore. Our nearest villages are Rathdrum and Glendalough and we are just 1 hour from Dublin with good public transport links.

We are a friendly, easy going family and team of staff on the farm and we look forward to introducing you to Irish life, culture, food and traditions.
We welcome interesting visitors from all over the world so you will get to experience Irish farm life and culture in a peaceful and natural setting while also meeting new people from a diverse range of countries and cultures.
We have been welcoming exchanges and volunteers to our family farm for over 30 years (since I was a child) and we have always enjoyed sharing our stories and learning from the experiences of those who stay with us.Projects involving children

Help
We are looking for some extra volunteering help for various tasks that include warmly greeting and interacting with our guests, housekeeping/cleaning, some basic gardening and grounds work, some helping with the animals (this is not a necessity if you are unsure or inexperienced).
we build our own caravans so practical skills like carpentry, painting and decorating are also very useful but not a necessity.
You will be trained fully in your first few days and we are always on site for guidance or questions. We prefer Workawayers to be 18+ years old and be able to cook, clean and look after oneself.
It is a busy varied environment with a small close-knit team and we look forward to welcoming you to the farm.Languages spoken

Just 100 m from the caravans we have an excellent shower and toilet block with powerful hot showers and a common room with free wifi.
The caravans and common areas are fully equipped for self catering and you will also be welcome to join us for some meals. What else ...
we are a 1 hour drive from Dublin and just 10 minutes drive from Glendalough with its famous lakes, monastic site and wonderful trails.
There are good bus links to Dublin from our local village of Ashford (10 minutes drive from the farm) and in our less busy times we can arrange lifts to the bus stop or the local villages.
the farm borders a nature reserve with lovely walks and there is excellent mountain biking in the area with Alan a keen guide to show it off!

I spent 2 months at Nessa's and Alan's glamping site.
I would say that all the working days were different, some days cleaning caravans, other days helping with horses and people... And some days getting rid off Jacobaea vulgaris a.k.a stinking Willie.
Alan and Neasa are very lovely… read more
From the beginning on I felt very welcome at the farm. I had my own little, cosy caravan in the middle of the yard. The place is just beautiful, surrounded by a lot of woods and fields - with donkeys and horses.
The little working team on the farm is amazing and always… read more
