    Micro Credit Project

Since the launch of this program mid-2020, and the subsequent implementation, the project has recorded positive impact with a majority of the beneficiaries improving their living standards. We started the required training, on basic business skills, table banking, self-awareness and their rights. At the end of the training, the 20 members were divided into 4 small groups for easy coordination then each beneficiary was provided with a non-collateral micro-loan to help boast their small business. We started with 5 members because of the limited funds, this year we have added on another 10 members who have been provided with a non-collateral micro-loan of $50. Half of the members have finished their repayment and have even taken a bigger loan against their saving.
This program is positively impacting on the lives of this women as we have heard positive stories from a majority of the beneficiaries. So far we have a total 15 active members on the program. We anticipate Imarisha microcredit project will result in a well-structured financial Institution (Sacco) that will offer non collateral micro-loans to more local marginalized women, training programs, capacity building and development of business skills.
