Description
We are currently looking for helpers that would be interested in house sitting for us for 2 nights 1-2 June. We do prefer if you arrived at least a few days before to get an idea of how our place runs. Of course we can also extend the date to be a bit longer to suit. Happy to do a mix of house sitting and hosting helpers.
We are situated in the picturesque Pohangina Valley on a 10 acres lifestyle block. This is about 25km (25 mins) from Palmerston North. You would need to have your own transport.
We mostly have a furry family consisting of 1 dog (inside), 3 cats, sheep, cows, chickens and ducks.
You must like animals, as most of ours are pets and love attention. The dog and cats are allowed inside and will sit in the couch.
The work to do while house sitting is very easy as its mostly the cats, dog and chickens that need feeding. We also have free range eggs that we collect and sell. You will be required to collect eggs every day. At most you will spend 15 minutes feeding in the morning and 30 minutes feeding and collecting eggs in the afternoon. The rest of the time you are free to do what you want to do.
Sorry some of our photos are a bit old and we no longer have some of these pets.
Please contact us if you would like to find out more.Types of help and learning opportunities

We felt the work was fair and we enjoyed working with them at the weekend, as well as learning from them about self sufficiency.
It’s such a lovely place to stay and we would recommend Bev and Stu to any workawayers.
We enjoyed their furry farm and got close with Maddy n Mika the two lovliest dogs, their 4 soo different but sweet as sugar, cats, jasmin, jeffrey, juno and Jj, lulu n' coco the funny goats, milly with her sweeeet baby boy jimbob and curious friends, Ruban… read more

They're so friendly that we felt immediately at home and it was nice to spend a week with them. They are really and hosts and cooked great meals for us so it was always a pleasure to help them out. :)
