Description
We live on a spiritual community in the rainforest outside the small town of Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Our home is quiet and surrounded by trees on three acres of land. There is a creek for swimming, nearby walks and an alternative school on the property. The town of Maleny is interesting and there are various places to visit, including waterfalls and rainforest walks. We are around 40 minutes from the beach.
We are vegetarians and meditate and do yoga everyday and are happy to share our practices. We eat delicious wholefoods. Most of the time it is just myself and my husband, sometimes some of our grown children or visitors and friends, including kids we sometimes take care of. We have had volunteers from around the world. I also play piano and guitar and I speak Spanish, French and Portuguese and I'm learning Chinese. My husband is a surfer.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We need help with gardening and need someone (one of two people) who can work hard and independently, ideally can use a brush cutter and have some experience in the garden. (chainsaw experience would be great.) We need help clearing our vegetable garden, maintaining rainforest areas and native gardens, clearing lentana, with compost and more. We can also use help with home maintenance and cleaning, and also with sewing projects.

You will stay in our house in your own comfortable bedroom with access to a veranda with a view over the trees. You will share vegetarian meals with us. We only like vegetarian food in the house. We ask that you don't have alcohol or cigarettes or any drugs here. We also don't drink coffee, but if you need it, you can make it yourself.
We have two friendly cats, two emus (!), and there are many native animals around including wallabys in the yard, kookaburras, lots of frogs and birds. What else ...
It is easiest to be here if you have your own transportation, as it is about half hour walk to town. However, if you don't have your own transportation, you can get rides with us to town and other places. (to drive to town is only five minutes, but up a steep hill.) We would prefer someone who can work independently and has experience with outdoor work. Two people (a couple, or friends) would also be fine. Children are also okay as we had four boys and still have many toys and places to play and we like kids.
Generally we are pretty relaxed and can be quite flexible. We both work at home and come and go during the day.A little more information
