Description
Dear workaweyer,
My twins - Alvise e Aurora - are almost 10 months old (born on July 25th, 2023) and they’re growing fast!
They’re more independent every day and I’m managing them with a couple of baby sitters, one of those is staying those nights when the father is not at home (never on Monday and on Tuesday, while Sunday is one week with us, one week with his other son, 9 years old).
Nights are calmer too. Still it’s not possible for me to manage the twins alone between 6pm to 9 pm: first there is bathing, then a little nap, then dinner, then some time together, then is bed time for the night. At morning they have different habits: Aurora is an early riser, she wakes up around 6:30 am, then she is willing to stay a bit more in bed with baby sitter, like until 7 / 7:30 am. Alvise has some awakenings during the night (no crying, just moving; he sleeps in my bedroom), but usually sleeps until 8am. So, having someone taking care of Aurora in the early morning is very important for Alvise’s and mine rest.
What am I looking for and what can I offer?
I’m looking for someone who loves baby and has a proven experience with them, and who doesn’t care to have some early waking ups for a few mornings a week. The idea is to stay with us and help me with the afternoon / night / morning routine for 2 / 3 nights per week. This is because our baby sitter has two dogs at home here in Venice and they’re suffering her absence. Therefore I’m looking for a nice solution for all of us (as you may immagine, she’s part of the family now).
For the rest of the day we’ll have one or two (when I work) baby sitters. Therefore you’ll have plenty of time off. Anyway, any further help, compatible with Workaway’s rules, is very welcome!
There is a room for you and a private bathroom right outside the door.
We live in Venice. I mean, real Venice historical center. The area is called Sant’Elena and is at the far est end of the island, just one boat stop from the beaches, where we can easily go for some fun with the kids. The area is super green, with big trees and a couple of baby parks. There are many children, and dogs, and nice old people here. Is quiet, but at the same time alive, with some bars and restaurants! And in 15 minutes by boat you’re in San Marco and the city centre (30 min by walking). If you’r interested in the Biennale, we’re two minutes walking from it.
In case you’re interested, I’d like to ask you to meet on Zoom or similar app, to get to know each other a bit before mutually decide if we’re ok with trying this adventure together!
I was thinking about a couple of months. In case even three.
A bit of knowledge of Italian is a plus.

Venice is a magical place! Besides all the historical sites and the beauty of the city itself (we live in the historic part of the city, on the main island, close to the Giardini della Biennale), the city is full of students and offers a great opportunity to meet other people from all over Italy and all over the world. Venice is unique and so is its food, wine, typical "bacari" (like little restaurants) and so on...

Help
The idea is to have some help in managing the kids, both at home and outside (like in the nice park close to the apartment or for some small tours, like visiting my parents in Tuscany), in order to have some time for me (a shower, going to the supermarket, house cleaning, etc.)

We live in a quite big apartment (120 sqm) in the historic part of Venice. Traveller will have her/his own room and will share meals with me and the kids (and my partner when he'll be there).
What else ...
Our apartment is located 3 minutes walking from the boat station (Venice public transport is made of "vaporetti", boats), that connects our neighborhood to the rest of Venice (incl. train and bus station) and to the Lido (where the beaches are located and where the international film fest is held). I work for museums and, if of interest, can suggest many nice places where to go. Should it interest the traveller, my partner is a chess master and president of the Venice chess association.
