Description
We're a little commune of three small households with each our flat living in a country house a bit outside the small village of Nakke. We have a large and lovely garden with a lake, fruit trees and a vegetable garden in the making.
I, Ellen, 37, will be your main host and live in a lovely 2-room flat with my cat, Patti Smith. I am educated as a pedagogue/social worker, but I am taking time off to focus on my art and just rest and enjoy life.
The two other households consists of Lars, 68, who works part-time with bio-engineering and on the top floor lives another Lars with his wife Charlotte, both 50ish, who have their own company working with heating solutions and plumbing and their daughter Maloo, 18, who loves animals and has a dog, a cat and a rabbit. We all like to meet up every once in awhile and work together in the garden or enjoy a glass of wine or beer and barbecue on the terasse and would love for you to join us. So while we are definitely up for socializing to some extent and I would be happy to share a daily vegan meal with you, guests should also be okay with both working alone (with guidance if needed of course) as well as enjoying leisure time on their own. And with only a couple of hours work a day there'll be plenty of time for you to enjoy and explore on your own.
It's a great place for retreating and letting your nervous system bathe in the tranquil peace that surrounds us with beautiful nature on all sides. There's a nature reserve for birds and a lovely quiet beach very near by, great for sunbathing and swimming.
4 km away is Rørvig with beautiful forest and more beaches that are bit more crowded. Rørvig, is a summertown with loads of tourists visiting and some cafés and livelihood. Nykøbing SJælland, 6 km, is closest town, with even more livelihood and shops and such and some cultural offerings. I can provide a bike for you to get around while you're here.
We are at present able to host 1 person in our fully set up glamping tent in the garden (access to facilities and kitchen in my flat). 2 persons travelling together can stay if they wanna share the tent. We're open to receiving additional guests, if they have their own tent or campervan to sleep in.Types of help and learning opportunities
GardeningDIY and building projectsGeneral MaintenanceUN sustainability goals this host is trying to achieve
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We're still somewhat newbies in the field of DIY'ing and are still learning, so people are welcome to come and learn along side with us and those with more expertise and experience have a possibility here to share their knowledge and we're open for people taking initiative, if there's something in particular you could see yourself contributing with. For example, if you know how to build a great composting system, come and do it here.
In regards to leaisure time, I'd be happy to share my knowledge about art and meditation/spirituality/healing/yoga etc., and we can practice together. As well as just to hang out and have chats about all and nothing.Help
Our main need is help with basic gardening such as weeding, moving the lawn, cutting treebranches or hedges etc. Some outdoors maintenance around the house as well. In time, we want to get our vegetable and herb garden more up and running. And will also want help with various smaller or larger DIY projects once in awhile - fx we want to build a hen house, outdoor kitchen, braid a willow fench, restore the wooden summer hut as well as dream of building a yurt.
Petsitting my cat Patti Smith can also be relevant in periods, where I am away in the city or travelling. When so you'd be free to stay in my flat. If you'd be interested in this, please write so in your inquiry.Languages spoken

Amaroq small glamping tent set up cozily in the garden, with mattress and bedding. You're welcome in my flat, use and hang in the kitchen. Use the bathroom facilities. If desired, I can provide a small primus gas burner for making pooridge and simple meals such by the tent.
I'll prepare and share one delicious vegan hot meal a day (either lunch or dinner - whatever fits into the day's schedule for the both of us). But be okay to supply and take care of the ,other meals yourself. Though you're of course welcome to use basics available in the kitchen, oil, spices, tea and coffee and such. And fruit in the garden :)What else ...
Good way to get here is with bike or car. But there's a bus (562) also from Nykøbing Sj. approx every hour on weekdays, a bit less in the weekends. Nykøbing Sj. is two hours train ride from Copenhagen. You can also take the ferry from North of Zealand (Hundested) to Rørvig.
A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
I provide wifi in the house. But there's only 4G coverage here. For me, it works fine most of the time. But some have difficulty getting good reception.
Space for parking camper vans
There's space for campervans to park near to the house.
Can possibly accept pets
I have a somewhat anxious cat. So the guest pets would not be allowed into house and should probably be kept under supervision outside as well, as the dog on the top floor roams around freely in the garden at times.
