Description
We have been in agriculture our whole lives and have just just expanded our operation. We are passionate about our industry and enjoy the people in it. My husband was a welder and I train horses for ranch work. We live on the south SK river where we irrigate, calve cows and have a feedlot. We have many fencing and building projects on the go along with trying to raise our kids. The kids are active with the cattle and horses but still are quite small to be out there all the time. They are raised to work hard, be respectful and always be learning.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will definitely get the whole farm/ranch experience and be a part of our everyday life. We do a lot with the neighbors and take in as many local community events as we can. We would make an effort to connect you people your age and give you the opportunity to do some exploring of your own. With the homeschooling we would look forward to embracing your culture as well and use the opportunity as a learning tool.

Help
We run a cow calf operation and I train horses. We have two girls 8 and 5 who I require some help with while I work outside. We are a active family and do lots with the neighbors and travel between provinces on work related jobs. We want to find someone fun and outgoing who enjoys new things and experience the ranching heritage. Tasks would include helping with housework, homeschool, yard chores (milk cow, chickens garden, horses). There are some other ranch related jobs but mostly around the yard and with the kids is where we need help. Flexible hrs if you want to go see some sights. Drivers license is required. You would enjoy this job if you enjoy the outdoors but are ok with getting some indoor work done when needed. Primarily i need someone to help with the kids but this does not mean you will be doing that all day, we will see what fits and fill your time with other jobs you prefer or excel at. Minimum wage for all hrs worked. There is a trade skill a higher wage can be negotiated.

Accommodation
We eat together and prepare full course meals at least once a day depending on everyone's schedule. We have a basement where they have their own bathroom. We would share the cooking. Depending on the season we will be preparing meals for a crew of people. We do spend a bit of time on the road between different ranches in AB and SK so this may vary slightly but is much the same everywhere. We want to do a bit of camping with the kids but is not required.
What else ...
We want to make it an enjoyable experience so please be upfront about your expectations and we will work to accommodate. We have transportation available with planning. We are in rural sk so it is not very populated and you would need to be comfortable with that. We work hard and play hard so appreciate people who are outgoing, positive and up to trying new things. Communication is important with our work so English needs to be strong.
