Description
We are a Danish family of 5 (Grandmother, Mother, Father, and our two daughters) living on a large old farm in the countryside, approximately 1 hour and 45 min. south of Copenhagen.
We love having visitors around and always strive to do our very best to welcome people with big smiles and open arms.
We enjoy the outdoor life and feel that our place is quite magical with its surrounding forest and open hills. It is also outdoors we appreciate the most being with other people, talking and sharing stories while we tend the garden, build a shed or stack some firewood.
We aim to live a sustainable lifestyle, where recycling and buying used instead of new whenever we can is of great importance to us. We are all vegetarians –hence growing our own food and tending our (rather large) vegetable garden, is something we value and enjoy doing.
We appreciate a free and simple life where our children (ages 5 and 7) are loved unconditionally. They are allowed to be alive, to be themselves, to be children.
As much as we enjoy opening our home and being around people, It is also important for us as a family, to have some degree of privacy and to be able to close the door when needed.Types of help and learning opportunities

Staying with us, you will get a glimpse of danish culture and experience living with a family of many ages.
You will get an insight into our approach to establishing and tending a large garden, and getting your hands dirty (literally) by learning about growing plants and vegetables.
Here you can enjoy a silent haven with beautiful surrounding nature.
We drive to Copenhagen weekly, so catching a ride to go and explore Denmark's capital is something we would definitely recommend you do.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
We are looking for help with expanding and tendering our rather large vegetable garden. We aim to redo parts of the garden using permaculture principles. Tasks may include planting, weeding, collecting vegetables, preparing fruits and seeds, cutting trees, preparing firewood, etc. Other indoor activities may include painting walls and house cleaning.
Some assignments need to be accomplished in collaboration with others, and some tasks might be individual.
We are looking for highly motivated people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. We don't expect you have any professional skills, as long as you are curious, eager to learn, and has a positive outlook on life.Languages spoken
