Aloha to you, a small family with toddler and two dogs and a cat is looking for some help with different projects. My husband Justin is living on Big Island for 15years and I, Joy, came from Slovenia 4 years ago. We have a baby daughter Maia Diora, she is bilingual and a sweetheart Loves new faces, animals and action. We have a new addition to the family, a 1 year old baby boy.

Joy is a stay at home Mom, occasionally working as massage therapist, and watching kids. She likes to cook and be creative on different areas when there is extra time. Justin works at elementary school, he is a big ocean lover. We love to sing, dance and joke around. We have two dogs, they are super protective and super lovable. They could be pet all day, and for sure they love to walk on coastline. Its so beautiful and private on a costline where we walk them, a really nice place to share with you.

We live on a beautiful Farm, which Justin created. A lot is coffee land, but we have in mind to create a new plan and plant different crops, and the rest is full with fruit trees lychee, avocado, longon, rambutan, macadamia nut, jaboticaba, tangerines, oranges, bananas... and a garden. We are lucky to have dirt on the Farm so potencial is very big. Farm is located in Honaunau, West side of Big Island and really close by are beautiful beaches Ke'ei, Maninis, 2 step and Hookena. We all are ocean lovers so we spend also a lot of time there. Justin is also a paddler and we have some boats to share. Our live is not very busy but it keeps us going all the time. We love to be outside and work on farm and refresh ourselves in the ocean standup paddling, snorkeling, surfing, paddling.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Hawaii are so beautiful and they offer so much variety. We can help with planning a travel around the island, telling secret spots and amazing views. I am happy to share my culture and teach a few cooking skills as well as dancing skills. We can teach you all you need to be comfortable in the water and on the water. And of course all about farming, and living in Hawaii.

    Help

There are a few project we would like to do and bring them to live, so extra hands would be really welcoming. Depending on your skills we could choose what is the best fit for everybody. Our projects that need extra hand are DIY chest, cooking (no meat), creating a pen house for chickens, tidying up, pruning trees, mowing, hand weeding, creating a nice flower garden, building a structure, planting trees, seeds, creating our own soil.

All help is for a private homestead and our family.

We would expect from 20-25/h per person per week for help. We are flexible but also like structure and organization.

On weekends Justin likes to work on the farm. We would expect your availability also on weekends, and the rest dooring the week. Where we live (1300 feet above sea level) is nice and not too hot, during summer time can rain almost every day in the afternoons, so morning times are valuable to work because its mostly dry.

    What else ...

Me and baby usually spent half off the day on the beach and other half on the farm, cooking, playing, working outdoors. Justin is working from mon - Friday and his afternoons very varies depending on the weather. Sometimes we go to the beach, we take the dogs for a walk, go run errands, or work on farm.
On your time off you can join us in a car and we go to different beaches, hikes, town... It is nice to rent a car if you would like to go and see more, or take a public bus, which is not very good, but you can go around with it.
