Description
Update: We're happy to receive applications from volunteers who want to stay at least 4 weeks for the season June - October.
Stay with us in the biggest wine region of Germany, help around the house or with our kids and learn everything you ever wanted about wine making!
We live in the beautiful Moselle valley surrounded by vineyards in a village called Ellenz-Poltersdorf. We are a young, multilingual family looking for someone to help around the house, garden, vineyards or with our two small children.
Seba is 34 years old and from Chile and Eli is 32 and from Germany and we have two girls aged one and two. Eli's parents, aunt and uncle and her grandma all live in the same street, so be prepared for the full family experience. But don't worry! We are all easy-going people who like nothing better than sharing a bottle of wine and talking about winemaking, which has been traditional in our family for several generations.
We love to meet new people and would like to receive someone interested in cultural exchange and not only looking for a free place to sleep.
The region is very rural with countless possibilities to hike, go biking or do watersports on the river. Public transportation works well during the day by bus (leaves the village every hour) or train and we can provide you with a bicycle for the time of your stay. We are looking for couples to keep each other company from time to time and work as a team. As we have two young children we are looking for hands-on people able to work independently and chip in when needed.Types of help and learning opportunities

You´ll learn about the different steps of cutting the plants, harvesting the grapes and of course the magic that happens in the cellar. During the occasional winetasting you´ll be able to try our different wines.
At home we speak English, German and Spanish and we love to prepare typical foods from Germany and Chile and other places around the world. Anyone interested in languages and culture is going to have a great experience at our place!Projects involving children

You´ll be staying in your own little apartment with a private bathroom and kitchen and you´ll be able to use our big garden. We´re happy to invite you to have lunch or dinner with us from time to time, but apart from that you'll be doing your own shopping and preparing your meals. We do our shopping weekly in the next town and can always take you by car.
What else ...
The region is ideal for all kind of outdoor activities, but there are also things you can visit during rainy days. Check out the city of Cochem, Beilstein, Cochem castle or Eltz castle or the huge suspension bridge Geierley. In Germany´s oldest city Trier you´ll find roman ruins and the famous Porta Nigra.
The workload won´t exceed 4 hours a day/ 5 days a week, but we will need you to work a full day from time to time in exchange for a day off. Generally, we are very open to offer a flexible work schedule for you to be able to travel around and explore the region.A little more information

Eli and Seba welcomed me very well!
They as a family made my stay in Germany perfect. I met Eli's parents, who without being able to speak German made me feel at home, we shared several typical German foods and their exquisite wine, which I recommend! The work was comfortable and simple. Taking care of Mia has… read more
