Description
We're an Italian-Brazilian couple, both 33 and 35 years old, along with our adorable baby boy. Opting to leave behind the hustle and bustle of Italy, we found our slice of paradise here on Sao Miguel Island in the Azores. After purchasing a home, we poured our hearts into transforming it into a cozy guest house that now welcomes visitors from near and far.
Today, our guest house operates at full capacity, and while we couldn't be happier with its success, we could use a helping hand to maintain our beautiful garden and embark on some artistic projects for our walls. When not tending to these tasks, we kindly ask our workawayer to ensure that the kitchen remains clean and organized, and that the shared bathroom is kept tidy for the comfort of our guests.

Are you ready to dive into a unique experience in the stunning Azores? We're on the hunt for a creative and hands-on individual to join us in our little corner of paradise in the parish of Porto Formoso, on Sao Miguel Island.
As a young couple with a bubbling bundle of joy, we're transforming our humble abode into a haven of creativity and charm. From tending to the lush greenery of our garden to unleashing your artistic flair with wall paintings, there's plenty of exciting projects waiting to be tackled.
While we do run a cozy guest house, the tasks at hand are a world away from typical hospitality duties. We're knee-deep in renovations and general maintenance, and we could use an extra pair of skilled hands to help bring our vision to life.

I would like to learn Russian, which I had previously started some years ago but had to stop.
Accommodation
The workawayer will have a spacious room (16sqm) with a small internal window, ensuring a cozy and comfortable retreat within our guest house. While they'll share the bathroom with our guests for showering purposes, they'll also have their own private bathroom for their personal needs, offering both convenience and privacy.
Additionally, they'll have full access to our well-equipped kitchen and all the common areas of the guest house, providing ample opportunities to relax, socialize, and unwind after a day of work or exploration. Our aim is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where the workawayer can feel right at home while contributing their talents to our projects.
In addition to the amenities mentioned, we want to ensure the workawayer has access to essentials for cooking. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, oil, and spices are available for free at the house, allowing them to prepare meals to their liking.
In lieu of providing food, we will be offering the workawayer 50 euros per week to cover their own needs, allowing them the flexibility to choose and purchase their preferred groceries and meals.
Additionally, as part of our agreement, when our car is not rented out, the workawayer will have access to it for free to explore the island at their leisure. We understand the importance of mobility for discovering all the hidden gems and breathtaking landscapes that our beautiful island has to offer.
Furthermore, we have a bike available for the workawayer to use, providing an eco-friendly and scenic way to navigate the local area and soak in the sights and sounds of our charming surroundings.
Our goal is to ensure that the workawayer has everything they need to fully enjoy their time with us, whether it's exploring the island, indulging in local cuisine, or simply relaxing in the comfort of our guest house.

The helpers will be working from 3 to 5 hours per day, leaving the rest of the day free to manage as they please.
Our Guest House is centrally located on Sao Miguel Island, providing easy access to many of the island's must-see destinations. Nearby attractions include the enchanting Gorreana Tea Plantation, the bubbling hot springs of Furnas, the stunning vistas of Lagoa do Fogo, the lush greenery of Caldeira Velha, and the picturesque Salto do Cabrito waterfall.
For those craving some beach time, we're just a stone's throw away from Santa Barbara Beach, a surfer's paradise with its rolling waves. Additionally, a leisurely 15-minute walk from our Guest House will lead you to Sao Miguel's most beautiful beach, Praia dos Moinhos, where you can bask in the sun, swim in the refreshing waters, and explore scenic walking trails that lead to a breathtaking waterfall.
With so much natural beauty and adventure awaiting just beyond our doorstep, the helpers will have endless opportunities to immerse themselves in the wonders of Sao Miguel Island during their time off.
The bus stop conveniently sits right in front of our house, offering easy access to public transportation for those looking to explore the island at their own pace. However, hitchhiking is also a common and viable option on Sao Miguel Island, providing a unique opportunity for adventurous souls to connect with locals and fellow travelers while getting around.
For those seeking even more flexibility and autonomy, we're happy to arrange for the workawayer to borrow our car when it's not being rented to our guests, ensuring they can venture off the beaten path and discover hidden gems at their leisure. Additionally, we have a bike available for their use, offering a fun and eco-friendly way to navigate the local area and soak in the island's stunning landscapes.
