    Description

Hi. We are a family farm on beautiful Orcas island in the north west corner of Washington state in the Salish sea. We have a large garden, sheep, pigs, milking goats, chickens and a view of the sea from your room. We love to have large family style meals with friends around a fire in the evening. We practice holistic grazing with our animals. We shear our sheep and make crafts with the wool. We are an 8 minute drive to the town of Eastsound. We have a trail to the beach for nice walks.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We have a lively farm with lots of gatherings. Workaways will meet lots of new friends here on Orcas. There are lots of activities on our island that are culturally rich, from music festivals, parades, dance parties, wood carving on Sundays, a movie theater, whale watching and more. We practice rotational grazing, build compost piles, milk goats and are always finding better ways to farm. We have gates that need to be built and we make our own lumber on our sawmill. Also, our island has a very active and inovative food bank. Volunteers are needed and that could be a fun way to meet people during your stay
