Description
We are family from the U.S., living and farming in the Southern Pacific Zone of Costa Rica, rediscovering a path to living in balance with ourselves, our environment, and all our relations. Blessed to be stewarding sacred lands and waters on our off grid homestead, and using regenerative permaculture to heal the land, our community and ourselves.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Immersed in a beautiful traditional Tico culture blended with a thriving community of expats, in one of the healthiest and most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet, guests with us can experience anything from learning basic to advanced natural living and permaculture skills, tropical ecology, personal and spiritual healing, connecting with the primal power of the rainforest, immersive language learning, explorations of mountains, beaches, the ocean... We can also learn a whole heap from careful tending the land, observing, being calm and learning to wait, and enjoying the fruits of our labor on our plates for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Help
We'd love to host persons or couples or families with a passion for natural living, food sovereignty, and enjoying life. Aside from the opportunities to learn and work in the greenhouse with edible and medicinal plants, or the food forests and regenerative permaculture systems we are also looking for help with the domestic side of farm life. Having no family here to support us as a young family, we are seeking resonant beings to help us like an auntie or uncle would, or a grandma, or a cousin, or a big sister. We need help to get all the things done on an organic farmstead, while also caring for and homeschooling our two children and all the household duties. Activities could include playing with or tutoring our two children, ages 5 and 8; helping cook meals; helping in the garden and food forests; light household upkeep like washing dishes or folding laundry; taking the kids down to the river; coming with us to play at the beach; going to the farmers markets with us to help shop.

Your home away from home is a rustic and beautiful off-grid (only electricity is from portable solar panel and battery for lights at night and charging stuff) rancho (open air structure with roof, no doors, no screens) made with teak, bamboo, ferro cement, sacred geometry and love. It has a queen bed with mosquito net. Spring water. Modest kitchen with gas stove. (no fridge). Private shower and compost toilet with views of the jungle and farm and the sound of the river just steps away. Bedding and mattress and basic furnishing are provided by us. It is nestled within our fruit and medicine gardens, and backs up to a neighboring private rain forest reserve (animals and insects live in the rain forest, you will see them, up close). The structure is about 95% complete and we are looking for the first visitor/s to have a good set of building skills to help us with the finishing touches, including gutters, plumbing, painting etc.
While anything harvested from the farm is available and shared, visitors will be responsible for supplying their staple foods in addition to this. Almost always in season on the farm is more greens than one could eat, root vegetables, bananas, sugar cane and more. And then there is the seasonal fruit food forests with over 50 species and many already producing. What else ...
