Description
I live in a beautiful part of Austria up in the mountains, together with my 12-year-old daughter, our friendly Aussie mix and two cats. We love having guests and always need a helping hand in the garden, where I grow herbs and veggies, or around the house. Maybe you are a good cook and want to create wholesome and yummy vegetarian meals, or you like spending time with our dog, who loves attention and long walks. Our house is a large timber house at 750 m above sea level, which means that most of the time, we are above the mist line. There is a fruit orchard, a pond for swimming, and a large garden, all surrounded by fields and close to the forest. I am a biologist and work part-time in Klagenfurt, which is the nearest town. I travelled a lot, lived in different countries (12 years in Australia), and did lots of volunteer work when I was younger, which was always a great experience.

While here in Carinthia, you can enjoy hikes in the mountains, mountain biking, and swimming in the beautiful lakes. I am German, and my daughter is German/Australian. We speak German and English. If you are interested in gardening, I can teach you Permaculture principles, natural gardening, and how to use wild herbs.

Accommodation
You will have your own, fully furnished bedroom downstairs, with a desk and internet connection. Bathroom and kitchen will be shared with us. I offer wholesome and fresh vegetarian and vegan food and do NOT cook any meat. You should be comfortable with this. Also, I would ask you to not drink excessively and to NOT consume any drugs while you are here. Children and dogs, if friendly with other dogs, are most welcome!
What else ...
As we live a bit secluded, there is NO public transport, so having your own car is a plus. However, I drive down to Klagenfurt on most days and am happy to give you a lift if you want to spend some time in the city.
