Area: Penticton, British ColumbiaWe are a couple heavily involved with all aspects of horses from a non-traditional perspective. Our home & farm is a work in progress & we have a busy life with gardens, fields & construction ongoing. We also own a horse related business in town. Our home is close to wilderness trails, with a view of the city and a short drive to town and beaches. Guests over the age of 18 who love horses and dogs (we have 5) would be best. Individuals who are interested in an internship with horse training and natural hoofcare are also encouraged. We offer 1 simple bedroom with queen sized bed. We would like to find workawayers for July who can assist with fence building, pasture management and cooking. Daily chores for the critters are always on the to-do list as well!
Area: AndaluciaAs a couple we took early retirement from education, I have a land-based/environment background, to live in a beautiful setting 2km above the town of Orgiva in the Alpujarras. We have just finished building our own house, with pool, and now need help with our 69 organic acres. We enjoy walking, listening to music, reading etc etc. Steve enjoys martial arts having run his own aikido club in the past and practices Tai Chi. There are olive, almond, vines and various fruit trees to tend, brush to be cut, fruit and vegetables to be grown and animals such as chickens, dogs and cats to be cared for. There are various projects on the go and jobs around the house. We are completely off-grid but comfortable none-the-less. Non-smokers preferred.
Area: rochaWe are 3 young friends, that are planting vegetables to sell in Punta del Diablo during the summer. We have had lots of great workawayers over the few months, with whom we have had lots of fun, learned a lot (German: da ist ein Affe im Baum) and talked rubbish. Unfortunately we are not harvesting any crops but we would still like to have you around! To make this happen, we have to charge a small daily fee (350 pesos) to cover the costs of the house. This means that you don’t need to work. However, between all of us we run the household, including cooking meals and stuff like that. We do all these things together and have a great time doing it! Part of the food comes from a local organic farm or our own garden, so lots of veggies but don’t worry for those of you who like meat, we are Uruguayans at heart and love a good asado. Note that basic food is included in the fee but additional food and drinks (asado, chiken, fish, wine, beer, coke) are split the cost between all of us. And of course, if we find new jobs to do, and you are keen on doing them, you can work for accommodation and food as it used to be.
