Area: Argyll, West Coast of Scotland

We are a busy family of 5- are living and running this Farm Estate on the West Coast of Scotland, breeding sheep and cows and renting out our Lodge and Cottage to self-catering tourists! We are looking for RESPONSIBLE individuals who are able to show INITIATIVE. Preferably you are over the age of 25 The Estate is in Argyll on the West Coast of Scotland, about two hours North of Glasgow. We are continuously working to improve and build up our farm and at the same time run our self-catering business. To date we have around 100 sheep, 24 highland cows, two dogs and a rabbit. The Estate is busy all year round - in the winter with daily feeding, the spring with lambing and the summer with shearing and hay collecting and storing. From April until September we have the main season for our self-catering business, which brings frequent visitors from all round the world. Our guests stay and enjoy the Estate and its beautiful surroundings. The weekly change overs are a la busy day on Saturday. The Main House was rated '5 star' by the local tourist board and we are constantly working to keep up and maintain this high standard. Some years ago I decided to change life (my formation is as engineer and multimedia designer) and moved to the countryside to have more time for me, spiritual practice and a better quality of life. The farm is situated in the commune of Seggiano, an area famous for its olive oil, in the foothills of Monte Amiata. The farm, abandoned in the 50s has been reclaimed in the past years and covers an area of 6 ha of woodland and olive grove. I try to apply the principles of permaculture and synergic agriculture working the land. The buildings have been restored using green techniques and the farm is self sufficient in energy from photovoltaic solar panels. The aim is to become as self sufficient as possible. I love travelling and visiting new places: as I have often been a guest myself I have a certain flexibility based on kindness and intend to apply these principles to the guests here. You are welcome! Area: Malaga Costa del Sol

Our place offers a private dining experience in a pueblo setting. Guests enjoy a “themed” evening with a custom designed menu served on a private terrace overlooking the countryside, village and sea. We also offer a Culinary Vacation Holiday in the Spring. A typical workday here in Spain would be maximum 4-6 hours during a day. Our philosophy is that we give you the scope of the job and you can budget your time to accomplish it. If the work we needs gets done in two weeks but we invited you for 4 weeks, then we would honor the 4 weeks. When we have dinner, you are welcome to join us and if we decide to go out, we will invite you to join as our guest. During April we will be experimenting with certain themed dinners so you will have variety! PLEASE NOTE: There is an availability calendar on this site. Please use it. In the past, we have answered each and every inquiry. If you inquire to come on a date we are not looking for helpers, we will not return your email. We are NOT looking for waiters, cooks or chefs. We are looking for people who are interested working in a rural Spanish village and assist us with preparing for the season. You may assist on occasion prepare a meal but this is not the focus of your work here.

Area: La Alpujarra

Together with my family, we bought this cortijo 26 years ago, to return to the land, grow and eat organic veg. etc. Now my small half Spanish grandchildren visit me on a regular basis, but I dont get much help anymore to keep the place running, and Im not as young as I was! I still love it here and mostly try to work with nature to maintain a beautiful place. It is terraced land, very wooded with lots of different fruit trees as well as olive and almonds, which need picking. It has an alberca, a natural water store which doubles as a swimming pool, fish pond etc.

Area: Ariège Pyrénées

We are a family of 5 with 3 daughters age 8, 11 and 13. We live in a very beautiful and wild area in the Couserans in the Ariege. Our house is a the end of a small road with beautiful views over mountains. We currently have a small gite next to our house and are in the process of finishing renovating a barn to also rent out to tourists. I am a photographer and organise photo workshops /trekking for young people in schools and local organisations. John occasionally gives trainings on intercultural communication in other parts of France and abroad. We have lived and travelled abroad and are used to meeting people from other cultures and all walks of life. We like meeting new people and getting to know them, and so do our children who are used to engage with guests staying in our gite.
