Area: Amazonas, Peru

Work in an organic coffee farm on the andes of Peru We live in a small village called Shipasbamba in the region of Amazonas. We are a part of a community of 800 people and we farm coffee like most of the families in the area. Little about us we started this project in april 2012 with my wife. Our coffee farm is 2,5 hectareas and we are farming Typica, Caturra and Bourbon varieties of coffee. My wife is a peruvian and I am from Finland. We are working with coffee and tourism. We have horse, dogs, ducks and a very friendly parrot.

Area: South America

A small (10 room) family-run posada/hostel (by myself, Michael from Ireland, My Venezuelan wife Odalis and our 2 year-od daughter Eirinn Gabriella) about 20 metres from the beach in the tranquil fishing town of Juan Griego on the Caribbean island of Margarita, Venezuela. We have a restaurant (currently we just serve breakfasts) and full size Irish-style bar, and we sometimes put on live music and DJs. We are 10 minutes taxi ride from one of the best beaches on the island (Playa Caribe). We also organise activities such as horse-riding, scuba and snorkeling, sailing and fishing for our guests, as well as offering trips to Angel Falls (the highest waterfall in the world), Orinoco Delta and Roraima Tepui.The Hotel is very highly rated by both Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor.

Area: Berlin

The Park of Study and Reflection is located in the High Fläming Nature Park, an hour's drive southwest of Berlin, in the small idyllic village of Schlamau. Here one encounters a vast forest and meadows, inviting for a nature hike. The Schlamau Park of Study and Reflection is one of 30 such parks that exist in all over the world. They are a place for lingering and meeting, and radiate a new spirituality that rejects all forms of violence and discrimination, appealing to the sacred dimension of the human spirit, seeking to discover freedom and meaning. www.parkschlamau.org We are 30 friends from different countries, who bought this piece of land and this farmhouse. We are financing it from our own pockets and with the help of our friends. There is no any institution, organisation or company sponsoring us. The transformation into a real Park of Study and Reflection goes step by step and all the work we do ourselves is voluntary work. Nobody lives there permanently and the project does not include agriculture or animal husbandry

Area: Rhode Island

Older "semi retired" woman, RN, physically fit, living on 2.5 acres of wooded land, south of Providence, close to the University of Rhode Island and beaches. I go between being a volunteer and visiting other hosts worldwide and have enjoyed volunteers on a previous project, back in the '80's, building a women's retreat in Vieques, Puerto Rico, without the aid of such a wonderful website. I'm offering a tentsite or room in my comfortable home, where I also rent out a small apt., Everything is pretty straight forward, sometimes I have a paying housemate.
