Accommodation
Private old log cabin, built in 1913, rustic but very cozy. We just moved into our new house after having lived in there for 3years. Or possibility of our guest room.
What else ...
Our place is not in town or just outside of town, it's about 1hour up the road. Other people live here but there are no shops or bars. We are open to possible long stays based on a trial period.
While you are here you will want to take time to hike and explore the "Ancient cedar forest" where some of the giant trees are over 2000 years old. Some trees take 12 to 14 people to wrap your arms around, they are immense!!! A real connection with history.
Cast your rod and try fishing by the dome creek or the great Fraser river.
Take our paddle boat out for a spin on our lake and check out the beaver lodge, and view hawks and ducks and other local bird life.
Many bears, deer, moose around, bring your camera!
So much to do for the outdoor enthusiast, and many peaceful places to sit and read, try our hammock!
We Love our campfires, playing music, swimming, boating, learning, there isn't much that we don't love. We are a couple who are enthusiastic about living off the land and are working our way towards a more self sufficient lifestyle everyday. We have passion for life and are looking to connect with like minded people. Pictures coming soon.
We enjoy hosting several travelers at a time from different parts of the world as we feel it creates a more fun, social and diverse environment. Our favorite part of the workaway experience is the friendships made. From the middle of April onwards we will be looking at filling our cabin with four positive people.
Peace.

Alright, so Dave already wrote Dorothea a nice feedback review but I felt as though I needed to say my two cents. This girl is awesome!!! I had so much fun hanging out with this self motivated, quietly happy, easygoing, calm, levelheaded and all around wonderful person. I feel we shared some common interests especially in baking and in the many more
My family had the wonderful experience of hosting Dorothea for three weeks. During her stay we did lots of things that wouldn't have been near as fun without her. She is an extremely smart, competent, capable person with great common sense. She worked at things here way more than We would have expected. She is very kind, easy to get along more
I stayed with Dave, Jess and the kids for about 3 weeks. I can really count myself lucky that I was invited to spend a great time in this small paradies in the middle of nowhere surrounded by an amazing range of mountains and wilderness. When Dave told me “it’s a bit snowy” I wasn’t aware of that HUGE amount of snow – I’ve never seen more
What else can I say about Dave, Jess and their two young boys that hasn't been said already? I had a fantastic time there and it was a true pleasure to spend time with such a wonderful family. Although I was only there for a short time I really felt at home. I had an amazing cabin all to myself only a short distance from the main house. It is hard more
Dougal was a great guest! His hard work, kind personality, interesting personality, and good humour made it really easy to have him around. We worked at several things while he was here and he was always enthused. I would highly recommend Dougal to any host.
Best of luck in your future!

James stayed with us for nearly a month this fall and we had a wonderful time. During his vist we did loads of firewood and trench digging and let me say that Mr Townend is no slouch for a city boy. He is funny, interesting, hardworking, intelligent, and plays a decent game of scrabble. I will note here that he didn't quite have what it takes more
Awesome isn't a word I like to use too often but there's no other way to describe my work away experience with this family.
I spent a month in Dome Creek during autumn. Most of my working time was spent with Dave and a couple of other work-awayers doing firewood, gardening, digging, berry picking and any other general outdoors work that needed more

My family and I had the wonderful experience of hosting Matt for two months. During his stay here we did many different tasks and Matt was always optimistic and eager to get involved and put one hundred percent into them. Matt is extremely efficient and has amazing work ethic. He was a best friend to my two young boys while he was here and more
I stayed with Dave & Jess and their family for most of September and October and had a great time. They are gracious hosts who welcomed me as part of the family. They live in a beautiful spot and we were fortunate to have warm sunny weather for most of autumn and even a couple of feet of snow shortly before I left.

It was my first workaway experience with Dave, Jess and their two adorable kids tommy and willie (and of course their two dogs matty and Genius and the cat howser !!) and I don't think I couldn't have a better start :)

Björn was such a joy to have in our home. From the moment he arrived he was ready to pitch in. Not a single task went by without him politely asking if there was something he could do to help. He worked at all sorts of different tasks, from digging trenches to peeling apples.....oh so many apples, we will certainly think of you this winter more
From the moment we received our first message from Armina I just knew we would get along great. A person who signs off with "sunny smiles" on their emails definitely poseses the positivity which we look for in our guests.
Armina is the type of woman who jumps in with her whole heart. Within hours she was part of the family, her calm more

It's easy to summarise my one month here (only my second workaway experience so far) as truly wonderful, but I feel like that only scratches the surface.
It) was, in all respects, a haven from the things I decided to travel away; my brief time with Dave and Jess, Willy and Thommy, Maddie and Genie (and Howser. And everyone else!) was like an more

I stayed at dome creek together with Joe for about a month and I just loved it. Dave, Jessica and their two incredibly cute sons are the best workaway-hosts you can wish for, providing a place to stay in their treehouse and sharing their tasty and healthy meals with us. Dave is excellent at making rice, salad and refried beans, you should try that more
I had the pleasure of hosting this wonderful lady for a bit over a month. She is a very nice, funny, interesting, smart, enthusiastic, reliable, trust worthy, just great individual. Sh is welcome in my home any time!
My stay at dave and jess's tree house in dome creek was amazing, exactly what i was looking for when i was planning to come to Canada. I feel very privileged to have spent a month with this caring and loving family, spending time with their wonderful two boys Tommy and William and enjoying their breath taking views. I arrived on the 10th july and more
Joe is a kind hearted individual. From the first moment we met him his warm smile endeared him to our family. Our two sons took to Joe right away. He would wrestle and play with our 4 year old for ages, teach him about dinosaurs, play Legos.....and sometimes they would just sit contentedly side by side. His patience and calm manner towards our more
