    Description

Young, happy, friendly, outgoing couple in their early 40's are Building a life /home / garden in the rocky mountain countryside. We love nature, waking up to the sounds of the birds, drinking our tea and gazing out at the the mountains from our deck. We live in a remote part of the wilderness. Having spent our 20's traveling we are excited to share that adventurous energy and get to know some new people.

We have lots of work to do here on our homestead; working at our small private sawmill , cutting and hauling firewood, log construction and carpentry on our home, shovelling snow!! Baking breads and treats in the kitchen for our weekly market bakery, playing in the beautiful nature, ridding snowmobiles and plucking away at the guitar and banjo, help in the kitchen, washing windows, oh my, the list goes on and on. Bring a positive and energetic attitude and you will have the time of your life. We like to have fun here, so come and enjoy life in the canadian rocky mountains with us.

    Accommodation

Private old log cabin, built in 1913, rustic but very cozy. We just moved into our new house after having lived in there for 3years. Or the possibility of the guest room in our home.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our place is not in town or just outside of town, it's about 1 hour and 45 mins from the city along the most beautiful mountain highway. Other people live here but there are no stores, restaurants or bars. We are open to possible long stays based on a trial period.

While you are here you will want to take time to hike and explore the "Ancient cedar forest" where some of the giant trees are over 2000 years old. Some trees take 12 to 14 people to wrap your arms around, they are immense!!! A real connection with history.

Cast your rod and try fishing by the dome creek or the great Fraser river.

Take our paddle boat out for a spin on our lake and check out the beaver lodge, and view hawks and ducks and other local bird life.

Many bears, deer, moose around, bring your camera!

In the winter: borrow our snowshoes, cross country skis or come along with us on regular vintage snowmobile rides.

So much to do for the outdoor enthusiast, and many peaceful places to sit and read, try our hammock!

We Love our campfires, playing music, swimming, boating, snowmobiling, learning, there isn't much that we don't love. We are a couple who are enthusiastic about living off the land and are working our way towards a more self sufficient lifestyle everyday. We have passion for life and are looking to connect with like minded people. Our favorite part of the workaway experience is the friendships we have made. From the middle of April onwards we will be looking at filling our cabin with four positive people.
    Peace.
