Absolutely magical! One of the most generous and kind families I have met, and a truly stunning country. I felt so at home there and Bjarni and Elin made me feel like one of the family from the beginning. I feel so honored to have spent an amazing summer with them in Selfoss, learning about Icelandic Folklore, bathing in hot springs and adventures more
Amy is our longest staying volunteer so far - and for a good reason. She creates a positive atmosphere everywhere she goes. At work, she is well organized and open to learn new things, quick on picking up the Icelandic alphabet while cataloging and scanning second-hand books. Among many other things, Amy is an artist. She painted a table for the more
This Workaway was the best thing ever. The work was enjoyable, and Bjarni and Elin are really lovely and have a nice bookshop and house. They also make good waffles. I learnt a lot about Icelandic folklore, and we got to do fun extra stuff. Selfoss is great, as it has both a waterslide and a cave. Bjarni and Elin cook great food, and also speak more
At first we didn't know what to expect from Alice, since she was a bit younger than most previous volunteers. She surprised us by being one of the best, with great attention to detail and quick to get on top of things. But most of all she is a great spirit, enthusiastic to learn about her surroundings and with a good humor. Welcome anytime again!

Overwhelming experience ! Such an amazing generous family in a magic unique country. It was an honor for me to help in that lovely bookstore for 6 weeks: lots of interesting old books and stories and waffles. Everything was extremely fair, relaxed, nice - much more what I received that what I gave. I'm so grateful for the rare opportunity to get more
Sara worked and lived with us for six weeks and what a wonderful time that was. She is easy going and great to have a around. At work she figures things out quickly and thanks to her many skills she ended up doing a variety of projects, much more than we planed. We are very thankful for her contribution to the bookstore. Welcome anytime again!
