Bonjour! We are Dalila (French), Pete (English), Emilie our 21 months old daughter and Bart, our ginger cat. Our place is an old château set in the mountains of the Ariege Pyrénées, at 500m. We have spent the last 2 years renovating the interior and have started work on the grounds, with a vegetable patch, composting, a woodshed and solar panels. We'd like your help to continue the work in the grounds, and looking for enthusiastic people who are hard working and enjoy the outdoors! *** We have availabilities in October. Sorry we have no availabilities in July/August/September as we have friends & family visiting. *** Our main projets are: - to build a terrasse - repair some garden stone walls and - prepare some wood for the winter (chainsawing, chopping, storing). A hand with the daily washing up and cleaning would also be appreciated! We can accomodate 2 people in the chateau in newly decorated double bedrooms, each with their own toilet and wash room. We have broadband/wireless internet, and a laptop at your disposal. We also provide 2 mountain bikes to get around. We offer full board in exchange for 25h help per week: typically 5h/day for 5 days and 2 days off.

An established retreat centre offering Yoga and Detox courses in one of the most enchanting regions in Andalucia, surrounded by the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada and only half an hour by car to the Mediterranean. Our farmhouse location is a home-from-home for people who love beauty, yoga, tranquility, and above all, a place to find peace, laughter and simplicity. This is an excellent work exchange opportunity for people with an interest in yoga and who would enjoy listening to our guests, without necessarily needing to be the centre of attention. If you are open-hearted, generous, humourous, grounded and stable and are able to receive and give in equal measure, we'd like to hear from you. Self-motivation and genuine self-confidence is very important, as you will be in daily contact with staff and guests. This summer 2010 we now have a few dates of availabilty again. The person's job includes assisting in the kitchen, laying/clearing table, washing up, chatting with guests, keeping the house tidy after the cleaner goes home. Also mid-week washing & drying (mostly towels). This position suits someone with a cheerful character and an interest in people and yoga. From November to April there are fewer retreats and this is when we rebuild and upgrade. Opportunities are available for people with skills in carpentry, upholstery, general maintenance, painting, and gardening. We live together with our 6 year old cocker spaniel Kim in a beautiful wooded glen valley near a village called Spinningdale about 50 miles North of Inverness in the Northern Scottish highlands. We have a 6 acre former croft, (a traditional small highland farmstead), which we are gradually developing as a permaculture site. We are surrounded by 1700 acres of stunning natural woodland belonging to a conservation body called The Woodland Trust. We are currently building an eco-house as our new family home.
