Area: Okanagan Valley, British ColumbiaI am a home designer and builder and this has been my dream to create this place. It is a home but so much more. I have utilized the reclaimed beams from four major buildings to create this special architectural project. It is an amazing gathering space which we plan to hold yoga retreats, and a school of craft specializing in alternative building materials. It is 90% complete and we could use some help making it wonderful. Over the last 5 years Ive had some great people on site who have helped me make it what it is today. We are excited to share this experience with others and enjoy getting to know people from far away. Send us a note if you'd like to come be part of the team.

Area: AlaskaWe have a family operated oyster farm and live on an island homestead in Southeast Alaska. We are a couple in our late 40's with two children 15 and 10, and also an assistant farm manager (oyster nurseryman). Our son is on a year exchange to Germany. We like to travel and our farm hand travels the world in his off months. It is very isolated here with no shops, and only a few other people. There are lots of opportunities to enjoy pristine Southeast Alaskan views. We travel to town with our boat, skiff, or by plane on the average of once every two weeks. We have two cats, one dog, and 6 ducks. We try to eat as much home grown or harvested food as we can, though we get bulk staples twice a year.
