Area: upperaustriaWe are a family of two and live in a house with a very big garden - I (Sophia, 57) have fun with growing things and doing some kind of art with natural materials. My husband (Wolfgang, 60) runs a mobile cheese dairy throughout Upper Austria and Bavaria. Our house is mainly built with natural materials and is located in a small village with beautiful surrounding with a magnificent view (some times you can see to the Alps!) As I am beginning a training in bodywork and have less time for household and garden, I would highly appreciate someone for helping me in both. My son, who lives nearby, is an artist who also builds straw houses and does clay stucco. He also needs sometimes someone to help him. I would like to have someone who can work self-contained in the garden and has fun with gardening and interest in permaculture - I can teach you something about herbs and how to use it for various purposes. Also I can show you baking bread and making cheese. Singing, discussing, philosophizing etc. could be a nice evening amusement.
Area: Rhone AlpsWe are a family with 2 kids (a 6 year old boy and a 2 year old little girl) We live in a house with a little garden (200 m2) We are a French-Hungarian family (my husband is French and I am Hungarian), the family language is French but I use my mother tongue and English as well with my kids... English is mainly to play and have fun!
Area: British ColumbiaWe are based in Cowichan Bay on the sunny east cost of Vancouver Island. My wife and I have lived in Europe and travelled extensively around the world before settling in British Columbia. We are not a farm, but on our beautiful 2+ acre property we have a small vegetable garden and some fruit trees. Our house looks out over the sea and Gulf Islands. We have a motor boat and sailing dinghy and are happy to share these with you. We often go out on the boat for the afternoon/evening to one of the gulf islands to walk, picnic, explore, maybe see a whale or two. We have bicycles for use, which can be used to get to the village centre, where there are shops, cafes, marinas etc.
Area: EnglandClaire and I and our cat Monty live in on the edge of the village of Blythburgh in Suffolk in a house that was once three mill workers cottages. Claire is a theatre scenery and costume designer and I am a builder/carpenter. We are in our 60s but not, we hope, too out of touch! We have quite a large garden and we need help with maintaining and improving both the house and garden
Area: CrimeaWe are couple, Yasmine and Pasha with 4 cats so far going to build cob house in Crimea and need some help for that. I'm russian boy, 33yo, making wooden toys, letters, words and things in my tiny workshop and selling them online at Etsy. Yasmine is my persian princess, she's very good at painting, thinking, talking and cooking. We met online several years ago and decided to settle down in Sevastopol which is my Vaterland :) Cob building as the technique appeared in our life just recently, maybe a year ago and we totally fell in love with it. It took some time to figure out how, when, where we are going to build and finally we start our own cob house this spring. The place we are going to build is a gardening which close to one of the most beautiful semi-wild :) beach in Sevastopol, Crimea. We are nice, polite and funny; trying to eat healthy food but failing from time to time. This is who we are in a nutshell! March 2014 UPDATE We have build the little workshop last summer for me (think it will be my mancave as well :) ) Now the foundation and the stem wall for the main house is ready and i want to make a reciprocal roof first and then cob under it whole summer. The thing is that we don't know what will be in Crimea this summer. If you are into international news, you probably know, that Russia invades Crimea (which is part of Ukraine) right these days - so we are kind of on hold with the building :( So we keep our calendar open, but please contact me before. JULY 2014 UPDATE The 13 of house wall is ready, check the pics! For all helpers! First - thanks for your desire to help! :) Second - now everyone has to have russian visa to get here, please keep it in mind : Shower and toilet situation: Shower now has two options and one old technique: 1. Pump+hose, cold water from underground tank (very good for midday refreshing, it's +35 in a shade) 2. Black plastic 60 liters bottle with water which turns into boiling water during the day - for someone who like it hot! 3. Old technique with 6 liters plastic bottles remains as well, but abandoned ;) Toilet Same "free fall type" (excuse me for that) toilet as it was before. Wi-Fi!
