    Description

We, Tayip (Turkish), Deborah (British) live on a large piece of land in the village of Kermeç, 700 metres above sea level with an amazing sea view.
We are a 35 minute drive from the town of Göcek famous for its sailing. We have a small holding run on holistic, permaculture and traditional methods. We have peacocks, turkeys, chickens,
    assorted cats and dogs.
Tayip has planted the land with thousands of olive, almonds, walnuts, figs and many other trees. Deborah is using the produce to make conserves, jams and fresh delicious food.
There is guest accomadation for volunteers and future educational projects and holidays and a recently finished 3 more beautiful wooden houses for renting out. We had so much help from workaway volunteers on this project and couldn't have done it without them.
We have completed the building phase of our 3 new wood and glass buildings and have started to rent them out as holiday homes so we really need help with the up keep and maintaining of these houses and getting them neat and tidy to guests to stay in.
We need help with looking after all the animals and working on the land, lots of watering, looking after the vegetable patch and chickens. There may be some other projects that we need help with, any carpentry or other skills would be appreciated.
Is anyone interested in staying for a longer period of time? Anything from one to six months would be great although we still welcome people who can only commit to a shorter stay.
Please note that we have a strict no smoking policy on our land.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We have found that guests really love to be in nature leading a simple and hearty life, and learning about local culture as well as getting to know our neighbours. People are generally happy to have limited wifi as it makes them more present and gives an opportunity to do more being and reading.

    Help

We would love your help to manage the land, look after the animals, landscaping the garden, growing veggies, help with preserving and jam making and some cleaning and tidying.
We hope to have great fun and learn and teach from each other. We are easy going and interested in people of all walks at life and from all over the world. At the moment we are interested in self motivated, energetic and positive people.

    What else ...

We are half an hours drive to the coast so plenty of beaches nearby as well as sailing and boating opportunities. Fethiye, the nearest large town is about 45 minutes drive away and there are many ancient ruins in the wider vicinity. Our village is very small with only a few other houses and local people scattered around ideal to see a traditional way of life but close enough to access the modern world.
