Immediate Help Needed – Experienced Workawayers for Building Raised Garden Beds (Minimum Stay: 2–3 Weeks)

    Hello!

We are Samuel, Hannah, and Berty, and we live in a beautiful cottage in the Bavarian Forest, close to the Bavarian Forest National Park.

Samuel is 24 years old and has completed his training in childcare and early childhood education. His partner, Hannah, is a doctor. Both enjoy outdoor activities and sports such as skateboarding, snowboarding, canoeing, and climbing. They are happy to share these activities with guests and help them discover the area.

I am Berty, 73 years old and retired since 2019.

Our home is surrounded by 20,000 square meters of land, including orchards, vegetable gardens, forest, and a small lake. One of our greatest hobbies is astronomy, and we enjoy spending evenings observing the night sky.

We share our home with a friendly dog and a parrot. We also keep chickens, rabbits, and fish, which help provide fresh food for our household.

At the moment, we are especially looking for experienced Workawayers who can help us build raised garden beds. In addition, there is always some gardening, animal care, and general maintenance around the property.

We ask for about 4–5 hours of help per day, usually in the mornings.

    What we offer

Accommodation in a peaceful natural setting

    Opportunities for outdoor activities

A chance to experience life in the Bavarian Forest

    Friendly company and cultural exchange

    What we are looking for

Experience with basic construction and gardening

    Reliable and motivated people

Minimum stay of 2 weeks (3 weeks or longer preferred)

If you enjoy nature, gardening, animals, and outdoor activities, we would love to hear from you!

For those who enjoy warm weather, the best time to visit is from April to September. If you love winter sports and snowy landscapes, we usually have plenty of snow from December to March.

We look forward to welcoming you!

    Samuel, Hannah & Berty

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

One of the main reasons we enjoy hosting is the opportunity for cultural exchange and mutual learning. We believe that sharing everyday life, stories, traditions, and perspectives creates meaningful connections that go far beyond travel itself.

When you stay with us, we will have plenty of chances to interact — whether by cooking and sharing meals together, exploring local places, exchanging language skills, or simply talking about our different experiences and cultures. You will also have the chance to learn about the Bavarian Forest and its people, as well as join us in creative activities such as sculpting, painting, photography, or even astronomy. We are happy to introduce you to local customs, traditions, and hidden gems in the area, and we also love learning from the backgrounds and ideas of our guests.

For us, hosting is not just about offering accommodation, but about creating an open space for dialogue, curiosity, and friendship. We hope to learn new skills, gain fresh perspectives on the world, and grow personally through the stories and knowledge that visitors bring with them.

The next bigger towns are Passau and Regensburg, both have a beautiful medieval old center. About 1 hour travel by train or car.
    Munich is 2 hours away.
We live near the Czech Republic border, not far from Pilsen or medieval Klattau. Prague is 2 hours away.
You can get to the next village easily by walking (10 minutes) or by us (we have two cars) or by bus. We also have several bicycles. The next town and railwaystation is 9 km away.

The National Park Bavarian Forest is next to us (4 km), For further information and all possible activities concerning the BAVARIAN FOREST you will find a lot on the internet. Look for "Bavarian Forest National Park".

"Let nature be nature!“ is the philosophy of the Bavarian Forest National Park. Nowhere else between the Atlantic Ocean and the Ural Mountains is such a large area of forests and moors allowed to grow and develop without the interference of man, into a unique landscape of primeval forest, a true “wilderness”.
