Description
7 years ago we set up an orphanage/school project here in Nairobi. We have the school and providing high school education to orphans and vulnerable children in the slum as from form 1-4 We are also running an economic empowerment program through micro -finance, safe water health and hygiene.
We are currently have 10 volunteers working on the project.
We have100 orphans now benefiting from our program. We plan to help 300 orphans when fully operational.

I was fortunate to volunteer here for more than two months in 2011. It was a wonderful experience among passionate, wise and hardworking co-workers and supervisors who turned into cherished friends. The students are so eager to learn and creative that you wake up with a smile in the morning looking forward to working with them.

It was good having Thomas in our community and living in my home with my family. He was so helpful to the community and refused to eat lunches in the community school and donated to the orphans. He is such a passionate young man that I admire to associate with you. He was able to donate books, funds, and entertained students and always giving then more
Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to volunteer here, but I was to visit for day and had a great experience meeting Peter and the other staff and talking with the kids. If I were to return to Kenya I would definitely consider coming back to volunteer with them.
Thank you Brook, your one hour visit to our project was a great help. You are indeed a teacher, you were able to pull attention of the Kids to yourself and you were not offended by the questions they were asking you as you were able to know that they are suffering pain of loosing parents and are vulnerable and have so many questions that needs more
