Description
"Are you interested in traveling and the adventures of the Middle Ages?
Do you enjoy working with children, have at least a good basic knowledge of German and camping is no problem for you?
Then I might have just the thing for you!
Experience the exciting world of medieval market traders with us. We run a painting and craft workshop for children and offer a minimum wage during market hours.
In May, we travel to various medieval markets and take part in the largest cultural spectacle in northern Germany. Here you have the opportunity to experience the artists and alternative living communities in Wendland up close at countless events.Types of help and learning opportunities

As a former and to some extent still active painter, building biologist, adventure educator, scaffolder, roofer, natural building material and vegan food trader, restaurateur and party manager, Uwe has now devoted himself almost exclusively to the fairground trade at medieval festivals. Sabine is a primary school teacher who enjoys sewing and organising clothes swap events, is actively involved in climate protection and likes to help out with community-supported agriculture. So you can be sure that there will be no shortage of possible topics to discuss.
Whether handicraft work on the house, household, create Internet page, gardening, showmanship, we will find out according to your experience and interests. Important are the cultural exchange and the desire to meet new people.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
On market days I pay minimum wage with free board and lodging. You can determine your own working hours. However, I would need your help for at least 2-4 hours per day with setting up and dismantling. In between you can visit the mostly historically interesting places, make contacts with the traveling people of the medieval troupe or whatever else you can think of. Of course, you can also help me in our children's painting and craft workshop for a fee. Since you'll be registered with social security, of course, you'll need a work permit!"

Our house is dog-, meat- and smoke-free ;-)What else ...
During our journey you will get to know exciting historical places again and again. We ourselves live in Unna. It is the easternmost city in the Ruhr area and borders the green Sauerland with its lakes and many hiking trails on the one hand and the vibrant life of the Ruhr area on the other. Dortmund, Bochum Recklinghausen, Gelsenkirchen Essen ... are easily accessible by public transport. Unna has a colorful cultural life and is home to an international light art museum
Unna can be reached in 10 minutes by bike and offers an extensive cultural program in summer. At least three times a week outside the summer, you can enjoy live bands in one of the many pubs. The largest Italian festival north of the Alps and the town festival always attract visitors from near and far. In the small town of Unna there is also a pedestrian zone, a cinema, theater, cultural center, light art museum, library, dance school, youth art school, vegan brunch, various restaurants, several pubs, train station, an airport (adjacent) ...
