Area: South Bohemia

It is still snowing and miserable, but the time has come to think about the things that need to be done when the sun shines. From May we will be looking for multi lingual help for our Tourist Info Centre. We need mostly European Languages, in order we need German, Russian and French, ideally all spoken by one person. If you speak German plus one please do not be discouraged, please apply for this. We can only take one applicant at a time and non-smoking is essential. From June we will also be looking for some help on the farm. If you are mature, strong and willing to work very hard without breaking everything you touch, please apply for this. We can take more than one volunteer at the farm. Special talents are much appreciated, by which I mean carpentry, mechanics that sort of thing. It is always best if you are drivers and have your licence with you.

Area: San Benito Peten Guatemala

We opened November 2011. Our first year we provided 6,820 kilometers of bicycle tours, 512 hours of English classes, planted 360 trees and 242 organic veggie gardens, raised 36 chickens and 5 goats, brought hundreds of participants from 28 different countries into our 8 Partner Communities, benefiting 1500 families and dozens of locally-owned small businesses. During our first year, we removed more than a ton of garbage from our 8 Partner Communities, opened two new Community Centers, provided the first non-profit ecotourism trips to Tikal, El Mirador and, of course, our secret spots all around Lake Peten Itza. With the support of our Partner Communities and hundreds of participants, our first year was a success. We are a cooperative of Guatemalan women, a registered Guatemalan non-profit and a pending 501(c)3 --- an association of family, friends and neighbors who serve their community and nature. Every cent that enters our programs and projects goes directly to communities, programs and projects that cultivate good things.

Area: Languedoc Rousillon- Gard

We are runing a blacksmith workshop & training center since 2004. From 2007 there is an ongoing project of a sculpture park, artists residency, eco construction of workshops/houses for our guests/students/artists etc. In these 3.5 hectares we offers short term stay for volunteers, minimum 3 weeks please, whom could participate in different activities we have here (hiking, touring bike riding,culture events) , learn new skills like crafts & arts etc. If you want to settle in France you could stay a few months in our "Landing platform for rural economic activities development" Together we will check your plans, prepare a program and you could stay in this "greenhouse " and start to check the feasibility of your dream surrounded by a positive atmosphere & helpful team.

Area: Italy Liguria

We need helpers with a range of skills, usually people with some horticultural or dry-stone walling skills. We can almost always welcome people capable of general labouring tasks! Early April we can do with help strimming terrraces and other general maintenance work. We have no space late April or May. It is unlikely we will be able to accommodate anyone in August The house is small and organising dates to suit can be difficult so please be as specific as you can when contacting us. Please also indicate what skills you have or your ability to do demanding physical labouring! Please note that the property is a steep 2km walk up from Taggia old town. There are no immediate residental neighbours. We are committed to the whole philosophy of Workaway, want helpers to enjoy their time with us and have made life-long friends. We have a small olive grove - Our knowledge of oil production is derived from our neighbours and we are learning. We have a hectare of land which is a bit beyond what we can manage given that we don't live there and have jobs, etc. We are not certified organic but try to be ecologically sound - have solar power, don't use insecticides, compost, etc. Sue is a retired teacher originally from New Zealand. We all love cooking and will treat volunteers well! We have a swimming pool and are about 4 km from the sea. We receive a lot of requests and will respond asap as we understand the importance of being able to plan. It would be helpful to give specific dates if possible. Our internet connection is far from ideal- have to work away from the house under an olive tree to get a connections but will usually respond within 24 hours unless it's raining.

Area: QLD

We are a couple in our 30's/ 40's (one Aussie, one Brit) with a 4 year old and a 1 year old, we live about 20 mins by bus from Pacific Fair (Broadbeach) on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We have travelled extensively, have lived in NZ, UK, Japan. We used to have couch surfers in NZ but we thought we'd try this now we are back on the Gold Coast! We love talking to travellers and telling them our fave places. Come and help us with our garden and house and kids!! The Gold Coast is a great place for a visit with long beaches, gorgeous hinterland rainforests, canals with million dollar mansions, shopping paradise, lots to see and do (theme parks, wildlife). We hope anyone staying here will enjoy trips to explore the area. Must love little kids!! We can host one person at a time.
