Area: LimousinPLEASE LOOK AT OUR CALENDER BEFORE APPLYING..CURRENTLY FULLY BOOKED FOR 2013... English-born Susie has always led an adventurous life, running her own businesses and living recently in Morocco for seven years. She moved to France in 2009 and immediately renovated a classic old three-storey house in the village of Grand Bourg, about 20 minutes by car from La Souterraine and Gueret in northern Limousin, with public transport available to both towns. The village has basic shopping, banking and postal services within a couple of minutes' walk of Susie's home, and the regional capital, Limoges, is about an hour's drive away to the south-west. Attached to the house was a former butchery which Susie has now converted into her latest enterprise: an English tea shop
Area: GersWe are an English couple early/mid 60's living in the Gers, South West France. We live in a tiny hamlet about 1.5 kilometres away from a small village in a beautiful area 3 kilometres from the nearest market town, Eauze, the capital of the Armagnac region. The house is set in 7 acres and is surrounded by vineyards and the area is also known for its fields of sunflowers. We also have a selection of house cats, barn cats and three retired horses. We moved here eight years ago to renovate our house, a farmhouse build in the Landes style, which at that time was a total ruin. Eight years on the house is almost finished but we have work left to do on the exterior, creating a collombage wall all along one side and taking off the render and exposing and pointing the stone walls to create pierre-apparente. Dave is a retired engineer with a lot of building experience so is able to train/instruct in various aspects of building whilst completing the required work. Ann is a keen amateur cook and gardener and is happy to give guidance/ideas in various culinary and gardening skills. Apart from a beautiful area of France we have a large size swimming pool and enjoy spending a long summers' evening over a barbecue and a glass or two of local wine. We are an easy going couple who enjoy good food - including meat. We have a wide range of taste in music. Many towns and villages have fetes during the summer months ranging from a small band or singer to Tempo Latino in Vic Fezensac and Jazz in Marciac. You can also join us in a weekly game of petanque in the village with the locals or even venture a game of quilles (a regional skittles game).

In October 2011 we moved from Antwerp in Belgium to a 5 hectare property 50km south of Toulouse where we now live. We're in the process of creating a (semi!) self sufficient permacultural community that will integrate a creation studio, a workshop, an amphitheatre etc with vegetable growing and some keeping of animals. The land is 4 hectare wild woodland and 1 hectare sloping prairie.
Area: Poitou CharentesWe are a bilingual French and English couple who came to live in France permanently after pursuing busy careers in the UK. We have always owned and competed with horses and in 2006 we bought our dream farm here in the south of the Vienne in the Poitou Charente in order to pursue our passion of working with horses full time. We now run a small private Elevage breeding Lusitanien horses and run an active and very friendly riding Club. We offer lessons here on our horses and organise all sorts of horse related activities for our members including training on their horses, randonnées, dressage, show jumping etc as well as a number of social activities. Yannick is a qualified BHS Intermediate Instructor and is also qualified in the French system. In the UK he undertook some of his training with the Bartles at The Yorkshire Riding Centre and in France worked as an Instructor training trainee riding instructors at the CPA Lathus. We have over 90 years experience between us working with horses in dressage, eventing, show jumping and carriage driving. We also really enjoy randonnées and Le Trec. The farm is 55acres of grassed paddocks surrounded by hedges and oak-trees. We have a large barn for storage of hay which we grow ourselves and several boxes as well as a large (50x30m) fenced outdoor arena. The countryside around here is very pretty with a network of chemins (tracks) which are suitable for riding, walking and biking. Our nearest towns are 15/20 minutes drive away and although not isolated it is a small rural community with few facilities on the doorstep. Our nearest towns are L'Isle Jourdain and Confolens, both pretty and historic on the river Vienne.
