Région: Valencian CommunityI am a Cuban/American married to a Spaniard. Have lived in Spain for 35 years where I have raised my family. We have a holiday home on the beach that we rent out to tourist as well as part of our home which is in a residential area near (Ribarroja del Turia ) and 20 km from Valencia City and would love to have someone that speaks english sharing time with us and helping us with our holiday home. We are connected to the beach and Valencia Center by tram so there is no transportation problem. Alex, my husband, is Spanish but has lived in Italy during his high school years so he speaks Italian. It is important to note that we are not vegetarian but we do not include red meat or pork in our diet. I was born in Cuba, but raised in Miami. We both have travelled a lot and lived in different countries like Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Italy, and in Spain in Madrid, Barcelona and finally in Valencia which we love. At home we have a piano for those that love to play. My husband and I both really enjoy listening to the piano at home and we have mountain bikes so you can enjoy the area. We are nonsmokers so we do not accept smoking in the house.

Région: Valencian CommunityWelcome here in Denia . We are Rudolf, 53, and Caroline, 54 years. Rudolf is a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and serves German tourists on the Costa Blanca. Caroline helps in many fields. Since we work primarily with Germans we have not learnt much Spanish so far. We live in Denia, a town at the Mediterranean coast, in a terraced house. The city and the surrounding area offer many things to see and experience. The city center can be reached in 5 minutes walking and the beach is about 10 minutes walking distance. For our guest we have a separate room and a shower room. A bicycle is also available . It would be great if the workawayer could help us in the household, with the shopping and cooking, and speak a lot of Spanish with us. We look forward to seeing you. Herzlich willkommen hier in Denia.
Région: British ColumbiaRoom available starting Nov 10 if you like cooking, dogs and outside jobs with the occasional inside job. The pressure is on to get my Father packed and moved. Your help with cooking, walking of the dogs, cleaning up the garden and sometimes help at my Dad's with packing would be very appreciated. Also looking for House sitters for all of January or March. This would be a great place to hole up for the winter. Responsibilities would be company and care for our two dogs, and 4 beef cows while we are away on holiday. You own car would be best. We would need to see references from workaway hosts or past employers. Our children have left home so it is just the 2 of us with 2 friendly dogs living in a beautiful home surrounded by fields and forest with views of the mountains and sunsets. It is very peaceful here and we often see deer, hawks and eagles. We have hosted over 40 volunteers and it has always been a great time together. Some of those pictures are included in our profile. Sometimes we like a bit of extra help with the garden or forest or whatever needs to be done such as preserving the harvest or making trails in the forest. We raise our own beef and seasonal vegetables. I like to cook a variety of tasty meals but I will gladly share the cooking if you like to cook. Larry likes to make people laugh. The dogs will love your company and attention. We have bikes so you can go exploring to Cowichan Bay (10 Min) or into town- 7 km. The bus to Victoria is walking distance. We try to be accommodating of peoples interest and help them explore the Valley and often take them on a hike. It is such a beautiful area where we live with hikes along rivers, up mountains and enjoying beaches. In the evenings we like to relax watching the sunset and watch TV or read. This is a good place for 2 people traveling together as Larry and I both have day jobs. Non smoking, no drugs and Sorry, but we are not a good fit for strict vegetarians.
Région: Transkei Eastern Cape South AfricaOur education centre is based in a rural village in Transkei, Eastern Cape, South Africa. We need volunteers to assist us with our teaching projects in surrounding junior schools which we work with. Volunteers can assist young children with reading and basically bring spoken English into the classroom. A TEFL background would be valuable but not essential. We work closely with a high school where you could share your knowledge of basic computers from typing to opening up emails or assist with maths, science, business economics, accounting or even life orientation. There are many other opportunities where volunteers can play a role such as creative crafts, sports or even music. You need to be able to communicate in English and we encourage you to be creative in ideas to share in the classroom. The local people are friendly and you will be made to feel very welcome. You will have lots of free time to learn about Xhosa culture and interact with the local people. Rural life here is simple and the beautiful scenery and easy going lifestyle is relaxing and feeds the soul. If community work and a desire to share knowledge is what you want to do, then you can be effective in making a lasting difference to someones life. Come and experience a cultural exchange that will be a rewarding gift and make memories to last a lifetime.
