Hello and welcome to a little corner of paradise in Ecuador. Our stunning, lush, green, bird and tree filled home in the Canoa district, around 8km inland from the sea in a peaceful valley near to the community of La Union. We are setting out to establish an organic farm and horse riding business on our 15 hectares. Currently we have horses, one who is expecting a foal, chickens and dogs. Also there are the giant iguanas who roam around! We are hoping to breed horses, raise all sorts of farm animals including goats, pigs and donkeys, lead horse trekking trips and have people stay with us in our own little community. We will be building cabanas, yurts, tipis, planting food crops and generally establishing our business to begin with. The exact plans are not known yet, we are hoping to build on ideas as we go along and see where and how we end up; however the main plan is to live self-sufficiently with as little negative impact as possible on our lovely planet. Looking for responsible, happy go lucky people, who respect animals and each other. Someone to help us to improve our Spanish would be great. People with horse skills and carpentry, construction etc. are especially welcome. At the moment we are asking for two hours work per day in return for your accommodation. We are not in a position to provide food, but there is a fully operational kitchen, fridge, freezer, 6 ring gas burner, electric stove and microwave for you to use. You will have the run of the ranch and also all the mangos, bananas, plantain, papaya, peppers, lemons, oranges, passion fruit etc. etc. that you can eat. Once the vegetable garden is established which is one of our main tasks at the moment, there will be plenty more vegetables to eat. There is a fantastic market and other shops in San Vicente which is our nearest town. There is a regular bus which takes 25 minutes from the main road, 400 metres from the ranch. There is also internet and you can catch other buses to Canoa (30 minutes) or to Bahia de Caráquez where there are buses for places further afield. Depending on the number of people we have at any one time, the accommodation will be in a dormitory or in the little flat. We provide beds and bedding. The rooms are mossie proof. Soon there will be tipis too. If helpers prefer, they are welcome to prepare their own food from what we have available. In general it would be better to have helpers stay for a minimum of a couple of weeks, but we can be flexible on this depending on other helpers and what work we have available. I am an artist, living on her own, surrounded by olive groves overlooking the embalse of Iznajar, the longest lake in Andalucia. I live 3 km from the village with magical views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

We are a German couple Lucky and Evy with two boys Darge and Molla 10 and 13. We live in Bavaria next to the Czech border and only 10 minutes to the skiing region Bodenmais-Bayerwald. 2011 we opened a guesthouse with restaurant. Our 5 dogs, two lamas , hennes, rabbits and some guinea pigs need daily care. In winter snow has to be shoveled nearly every day. We want to get on, nevertheless enjoying the present. We need a helping hand.

HELP NEEDED URGENTLY Dear Workawayer , At present assistants is needed particularly in relation to painting and decorating and cleaning inside and out side areas in preparation for the year a head. This is the annual spring clean. We are a vibrant young family living in the Stunning Highlands of Scotland. Our family consists of Lynsey aged (28) and her two lively little boy’s Ruaridh aged(5) and Euan aged (2). Lynsey is a qualified social worker and has worked in the profession for many years: however last year she made the drastic decision to completely overhaul her lives. It was Lynsey’s desire to be at home with the children and to build an organic eco garden to provide food for the veg box Scheme which she is developing. As a family we are also very passionate about upcycling “rubbish” into useful and decorative item’s which would look apart of any home or garden. We are at the very early stages of a large project and would love to share our excitement and experimentation with others. It is our aim to build a new sustainable future for our small patch of this wonderful planet. We have a keen interest in permiculture and other sustainable living ideas. We would love to have as many as 3 workawaers come stay with us at any one time. We do live in a small crofters cottage but have one spare small single bedroom which will be reserved particularly for young female single travellers. We have two reception rooms, we could accommodate to travellers of the same sex or a couple. This opportunity is very exciting and different but would only suit people who did not mind sharing space with others. Once the project is fully build there will be accommodation built specifically for our visitors. Visitors will also be provide with three hearty meals a day. What we expect from our guests. We do not ask for much but due to having two young children in the family home we ask that all guests refrain from the use of bad language. Do not use mind altering substances and if they choose to drink alcohol that it is in moderation. If our visitor is a smoker we ask that this habit is kept outside the family home. We also ask that visitors assist with house work in order that the family home is kept comfortable for everyone living in it. The Highlands of Scotland is very beautiful and there will be much to see and do, we only ask our visitors to work four days and week and the rest of the time is theirs to do as they wish.
