We are two families living our dream on the South-West coast of Portugal. We live inside a natural park not far from the ocean. We decided to 'go green', live an off-grid life style, challenge ourself to be more self-sufficient and be more sustainable . This summer we opened our paradise to the public, so people can have an unique holiday experience at our ECO-glamping / farm. Our goal is to reconnect with nature, grow high quality organic produce and inspire our guests and volunteers.
We offer our volunteers a great learning experiences, comfortable tent accommodations, quality meals, lots of nature and fun.
We are currently busy with:
- Natural building techniques (we are restoring parts of an old ruin, building a rocket stove powered pizza oven, cob benches and building a natural cob home)
- Natural gardening (we are starting a 'farmer market vegetable garden, cleaning and preparing our food forest, building a family size veggie garden, and making preparations for a one hectare fruit tree orchard). We have hands on experience in the fields of permaculture, natural beekeeping and much more.
- We are running our small scale ECO-glamping for the first time, for which we need your help in maintenance, house hold and Pizza and dinner nights.
We also appreciate help with our many household tasks and animal care (dogs, chickens and cats)
We ask our volunteers to work 5 days a week and 5 hours a day, starting at 8am until 1pm (this depends on the climate). So you have the rest of the day off to do your own things, go to the beach, surf, walk in nature and what else.
About food and lodging.
- We provide food during working days. After lunch your working day ends and for the evening you will need to prepare your own dinner with ingredients we provide. Any special non vegan wishes have to be provided by the volunteers them self.
At the moment we have two big camping tents and we welcome volunteers with their own tents or campervans etc.
About getting back and forth between the nearest town (Budens) and our mountain, please realize its a 7km bumpy hill ride. We recommend to come by car, but if not we are more than happy to give our volunteers a ride when we bring/pick our children to school or go out for other things.
Just to draw the right picture for you: Our current project is called 'Into to Wild Algarve' and we promise it is Wild. We are far away from being a luxurious ECO resort etc. There is nothing luxurious about our place and its all about nature and the luxury of having LESS. Of coarse everything is clean, save, we provide Wi-fi, streaming water, solar power in our HQ and we serve healthy nutritious lunches.
As you can understand there is more than enough to do. We are always looking for motivated and positive people to join our team... VAMOS :)

We accept all ages men and women and prefer strong workers. We are open minded, ask volunteers to work 5 days a week. Note: We only accept people who stay for a minimum of three weeks or more.
We have two camping tents accommodations for our volunteers. We also welcome people with their own accommodation on wheels.
We are pretty near the South and west Atlantic coasts... there's lots of sun beaches, nature and surfing stuff going on. Note: we are stationed inside nature!!! we are a NON-SMOKING host and we are allergic to fires (too many fires have destroyed pressures pieces of nature).
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers

When we work with volunteers we are open for any questions regarding the way we live self sustainable, organic gardening, permaculture, natural beekeeping and natural building. Since we have lots of experience and Dave (moi) have a background working at Apple Inc. as a trainer (training thousands of people) we guarantee volunteering at Vamos Verde is a great experience and a chance to lear a lot.
