Volunteer in the jungle in Belize. Central America
Country: Belize
Description
We are a family in Belize nestled in the foothills of Mountain Pine Ridge and on
the outskirts of an “Old World” Mennonite community.
The most common word we hear to describe the place is “Paradise”. There are plenty of creek-side hammocks, a small book exchange, excellent bird watching and scenic botanical gardens.
If you are seeking some adventure we offerguided and unguided jungle hikes, night hikes as well as trips to remote swimming holes, waterfalls, Maya ruins, horseback riding, river canoeing and cave exploring.
Come see why theLonely Planet Guidebook said, “The sort of place you visit for a day and stay fora week."

Work
It doesn’t cost anything except your hard work to volunteer here in Belize and we
feed our people well. Sleeping arrangements are usually a mattress and sleeping bag in our loft.
Typically you may expect to work about 6 hours a day and then help with meal preparations and
cleanup. We ask for 6 days a week and on your day off you may still help with the evening meal and
cleanup. A day’s work may include general cleanup, yard work, animal care, nursery work, citrus
grove maintenance, gardening, and kitchen work. Glamorous! We make every effort to place
volunteers in work environments that makes the best use of their skill set but our primary goal is to
accomplish our daily tasks and special projects with the people we have here. .
Volunteers’ afternoons and evenings might include relaxing in the swimming hole, hammock time,
jungle hikes, soccer with the locals, movies on DVD and the occasional Texas Hold'em poker game.
Additionally, volunteers enjoy discount prices on area tours and adult beverages. Be prepared for
some time out of the loop when you come to us, we are remote, in the jungle and
have no internet or phone service!
