We opened November 2011. Our first year we provided 6,820 kilometers of bicycle tours, 512 hours of English classes, planted 360 trees and 242 organic veggie gardens, raised 36 chickens and 5 goats, brought hundreds of participants from 28 different countries into our 8 Partner Communities, benefiting 1500 families and dozens of locally-owned small businesses. During our first year, we removed more than a ton of garbage from our 8 Partner Communities, opened two new Community Centers, provided the first non-profit ecotourism trips to Tikal, El Mirador and, of course, our secret spots all around Lake Peten Itza. With the support of our Partner Communities and hundreds of participants, our first year was a success. We are a cooperative of Guatemalan women, a registered Guatemalan non-profit and a pending 501(c)3 --- an association of family, friends and neighbors who serve their community and nature. Every cent that enters our programs and projects goes directly to communities, programs and projects that cultivate good things.

My name is Steve, english and 47yrs old. I have bought a quinta/farm in the mountains of Central Portugal in a protected nature reserve close to the river Zezere. My father had a peach farm in Cyprus when I was younger so I have been waiting to do this project for a long time! I searched over France and Greece for the right land and Portugal really is nice. Every month the environment changes and it's quite exciting. I started in Jan 2007. I have no family of my own.

Stay with my family and help at an educational academy. While staying with my family you are welcome to teach English, typing (on laptops donated by a previous volunteer) and/or playing games with the children. You are invited to join our Nepali language class during the school day. We currently have 92 students between the ages of 3-13 years old. We welcome all new volunteers with Tikka and garlands.

A meditative yoga retreat on an old terraced valley farm below the village of Amieira, Oleiros, and also home to the Winter family and their providently named Golden Retreiver, Moses. We have a Vale de Moses retreat website and We Love Moses blog with stories of our restoration project and now life on a yoga retreat. We have recruited all the yoga volunteers for our team for 2013, but if you'd like to be on our waiting list or for our 2014 team, please send us a request outlining why you would like to be considered.
