Description
We are one hour from Lisbon.We run a historic estate in a beautiful setting that hosts weddings, summer camps, and seminars, as well as running a bed and breakfast. In the past, it was used as an agricultural and hunting grounds for the nobility of Portugal. There is a main house, a lodge, dormitories, and small houses, as well as a pool, pond, and large wooded area to explore. Offering a glimpse at historic and contemporary Portuguese culture and living, from the agricultural antiques you may be cleaning and organizing to a glimpse of hunting and wedding culture in this country.
We need assistance with grounds maintenance and development. Grounds keeping often includes tasks such as raking, weeding, decorating and painting, recovering antiques, trail building, cleaning and organizing objects, and planting. We appreciate especially if people share with us their interests and skills, as we have projects that need doing for just about everything
The Summer is almost over now and we dont expect anymore Guests.
Now we got Time to Concentrate on things around the Garden and general Maintenance.
Sometimes we send some employees over there, for Dangerous or complicated Work.
Actually we have one Volunteer but Assistance would be very helpfull, with that amount of Work what needs to be done.
We live part of our time in Lisboa, but tend to give a list of tasks and you organize yourself, or we call with instruction. Volunteers who are self-motivated, creative, and flexible do well in this setting.
We provide you with groceries to cook for yourself, and often there is catered food left from hunting groups available, providing you with a taste of authentic Portuguese cuisine! We have a great bread oven that volunteers are welcome to use, and of course there is the pool.
We expect 5 hours a day, 5 days work, 1 day off, and you are independent to arrange your time according to your interests. Lisboa is 1 Hour by Bus from here and the next bigger Towns are Coruche (6 kms ) and Santarem.

We need help in the gardens and around the lake. Things like cutting the grass and mowing and also have ongoing restoration projects we often need help with! Lots of leaves to clean, vegetable garden to maintain!

This location is stunningly beautiful. Vast amount of lands to explore in your downtime. It is chaotic at times, and can be frustrating, but we had an overall positive experience and I would go back without a doubt. It is a rare opportunity to see a slice of life in Portugal that most of us never get to witness. Very special.
I had a great time at this place and stayed there for about 6 weeks. Beautiful area with lakes and lots of land. In general the work was done in a fairly chilled out way but there were times of urgency and some hard work to be ready for guests and weddings. Thanks Branca and Antonio for having me!
Me and my brother came down to Volunteer at this place and we both had a great time. From making homemade pizza and bread to going to the property's beautiful personal lake, our experience was awesome. Thank you so much Antonio and Branca for letting us see and help you on your beautiful property!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Branca and Antonio welcomed me almost it felt into their large extended family. It is located on a stunning sprall of hundreds of hectres. You often had to lead yourself during the day with work, it never was hard- but it often was long hours, which was fine. I stayed for about a month, and I would come/ AM more
Wonderful place, wonderful hosts, couldn´t have had a better two weeks here. Work was mostly helping in the gardens, but we also had a chance to set up for a wedding, and also enjoy the festivities after! Definitely suggest coming here Antonia and Branca are great and all the workers make you feel like part of the family. Definitely trying more
Richard worked at our place for several weeks with various types of work such as building, gardening, recieving guests and kitchen-work. He is very attentive, independent and works efficiently; on top of that he's a really nice and social person to have around.

I had such a great time here, Branca and Antonio are really nice and the house and grounds are amazing. I particularly enjoyed having a kick about with Antonio on their pitch! Thank you Branca and Antonio!
The property is a very peaceful place, with plenty of time to look at the stars, swim in the lake or pool or read or use wifi. While we were here we mainly helped out in the kitchen as there is summer camps. Everyone is friendly and it is sometimes nice to not be working out in the hot sun. Absolutely stunning location and a fantastic place to work. Antonio was great to spend time with, always up for a laugh and on hand if you had any queries. The pizza oven and swimming in the lake everyday are only two of the things I miss already! Highly recommended.
Tyler and I spent a month and a half at this place. There we had very nice time helping with a summer camp, the hunters, general maintenance, guests at the house, and a wedding! So you can see there are many different tasks.
