We are 2 English hippies living in the Mountains of Bolivia outside of Samaipata on our organic farm. We are moving towards a life of complete self sufficiency and have been here 2 years, currently with goats, chickens a husky called scout and field of veg and a greenhouse. We are into recycling in as many ways as possible, for example our windows are made from coca cola bottles (plastic). We like to share knowledge with volunteers and sculpt the time they are with us. After basic duties of necessary maintain ace we try to encourage people to take on a personal project suited to their tastes and skills and allow folks to organically work their way towards a self discovered understanding of plants, animals and natural materials. Oh yeah and plant a tree during the stay :) We are very flexible and our best days is when people that visit are able to get a taste of what moving through the day organically is all about, if you don´t enjoy it, we´ll find something you do. Fire pit outside for chilling under stars and singing with guitar, we provide food and shelter for work, meat to vegan....

Area: Algarve

My name is Marie, I'm french and have been living in Portugal for 20 years. I run 3 holiday houses in Quelfes, near Olhão in the Algarve This is countryside, sea view, calm and charming environment at 6 km from the large white sand beaches. The region is still authentic, away from the mass tourism. Specially in summer I look for some help : 3 hours flexible a day, 6 days per week, I provide you with breakfast and 3 meals on saturday. You can make use of my kitchen with all basic ingredients. There is 2 bicycles that you can use.

Hi, We have recently purchased an old house and the garden is very neglected, house needs work too. I need a hand to get the place looking good. By Australian standards it is an historic old home as nearly 200 years old and we would like to do the setting justice. I have recently retired and my husband is working full time still to pay the bills. We need a hand in the 1 acre garden and round the house inside and out to get it the way we would like. Setting up an organic veggie garden and chicken run is a priority.

Area: Pas-de-Calais

We; Nik 46yrs (English/German) and Donna (New Zealander), and Donna's daughter Ella (15yrs) have bought a run-down farmhouse and outbuildings on 1/2 acre in Northern France. Nik is a potter and also an experienced builder and we are attempting to renovate the property, to a very high standard. We are tackling the renovation alone; doing all the concreting, woodwork, repairing old mud walls and making our own roof tiles, floor tiles and bathroom tiles etc. We have built a woodwork shop and a pottery in our old barn, and we are starting to experiment with glass. We have an extensive garden and we keep chickens and goats (and for some months pigs). And we have 3 cats and a Jack Russell. We eat well from the garden and orchard, and love to process our own produce when we have the time (time being the key word!); sausages, hams, salamis, jams, sauces, cheeses (when we can get a supply of fresh milk) and so on. Our life is a combination of self-sufficiency, good living and utter chaos! This part of France is charming and unspoiled - but local transport is not easy and it is not a usual holiday destination. That said, if you want to experience a different culture and maybe learn some new skills, we would benefit greatly from your help and enthusiasm!

Area: Cantabria

SORRY. NO PLACE AT THIS TIME. I live in a small town 3 kilometers outside of Comillas on the Cantabrian Coast (Bay of Biscay). Comillas is a nice and quiet touristic town, but full of tourists (mainly Spaniards) during Summer beach season. It is 40 minutes from Santander where there is an international airport and port (daily ferries to England). I have a 18 months old german shepherd named Sancho who is sweet but full of energy. I work full time at the University in Comillas, so I will need some help around the house and taking care of Sancho. I have been active host with Coushsurfing for a few years and love it. This time I need a little help and can offer up to one or two weeks accommodation and some Spanish gastronomical fare for one or two people. I can speak Spanish and English so I can help with language practice in Spanish and need to practice some English myself. I am a photographer too but this is just a hobby.
