We live a basic lifestyle on an Island off West Cork. This is quite a new venture on approx 20 acres with chickens, ducks, pigs, horses, goats, dogs and cats so far! I am a well known artist and basketmaker, making a variety of arts and crafts, using natural materials and metal. We also teach and run community projects. We are currently making new food gardens from scratch, soil building, fencing, fixing water supplies, digging drains and clearing trees and scrub and there is always willow to harvest in the winter. We are also building animal shelters and workshops and later a house maybe! Accommodation is basic. Our camper van or bring a tent, no flush toilets, proper showers, washing machine or modern conveniences at all. We have some beautiful young horses that would love some attention and training to pull and ride. We are hoping to get some longer term visitors who are committed and confident horse people who can help with them and are open to alternative training methods. The work here is varied and flexible including gardening, caring for the animals, farm improvement tasks, building, helping with the art, cooking and house chores. We are very open to new ideas and input as we are learning as we go along. We try to cook good food and bread everyday. We eat our own eggs, vegetables. and meat and local produce where possible but not 100% organic. Vegetarians welcome too. We eat and socialise together in the evenings and make our own entertainment. Musicians, singers, craftspeople, woodfolk, horse whisperers and all hardworkers especially welcome. TV watchers and computor or sugar addicts beware!!! Volunteer work for free stay in Marbella Spain We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our vibrant team in Marbella, Spain. It is a brilliant opportunity to enjoy sunny spain and maybe learn new language. We are offering a room and board in exchange for volunteer work in our hostel (catering/housekeeping for 20 hours a week).

We are a group of 3 adults (Sam, 27 male and two 50 year olds) musicians by trade whom own a 100 acre hobby farm on the south coast of NSW. We're somewhat alternative in our farming methods and adhere to a lot of permacultural practices. We're not farming in "producing goods for sale" sense but we keep a few animals and grow an abundance of fruit trees, olive trees and garlic. Hence, there's always something that needs to be done. Our place is quite incredible as far as scenery is concerned as we've some fantastic views of the surrounding wilderness areas. We're close to some really good beaches and national parks and there's also an array of wildlife that resides on our land.

Area: Midi Pyrenees

We're a Dutch family living on goat farm in the Gers (South-West France, 20 km south of Auch). Four years ago we started with 80 goats and a ruine. Today the ruine has become a comfortable farmhouse and the amount of goats has almost doubled. This means that in spring we will be very busy when the kids (baby goats) are born and we could with an extra pair of hands. If you decide to volunteer here we will see you as equal to the rest of the members of our household which means you will take your share in cleaning and cooking. We've worked with volunteers before and it always has been a great experience.
