We are a Provence family from the village of Roquebrune sur Argens (Var). André Abbe, journalist and photographer, now retired, was born in the family house you’ll stay in, in Roquebrune-sur-Argens. Thanks to 50 years of career, André had the opportunity to travel internationally, and capture moments of life in France, Europe, Asia, South America, but also in Oceania. You’ll meet André, François (his son who’s running the Charity) and many local people (the neighbors are particularly nice).

    More about the project:
From 1970 to 2000, André has taken more than 100,000 photos of his travels, Provence and more particularly, his hometown, Roquebrune, and its surroundings. These pictures are the result of a passion and a photographic heritage that he wishes to revive through a non-profit making organization: Abbe Photo.

Our charity Abbe Photo has one main goal: to give life again to rare and unknown archives to the general public. And this is your mission!

After 3 exhibitions and 3 books, we now are celebrating Abbe Photo 3rd anniversary and Passadoc 10th anniversary. The even date is on Friday 23rd August 2023.

You will stay in Maison Abbe in Roquebrune, which has been in the family for 4 generations. This 16th century house has four floors. On the ground floor, there is a self-contained apartment with its own entrance. It is fully equipped with a bedroom with a double bed (160cm, new mattress), small living room, kitchen area and bathroom. It is your private space!

    Our nonprofit has 2 goals:
    - Save an archive with 100,000 pictures
    - Improve the brand-awareness so that people better know our pictures, our nonprofit, André Abbe, etc. At this time, we are focusing our communication on Germany, Great Britain and North America.

You mission is to help with the brand awareness. You will help to run Abbe Photo communication, mainly with its social media accounts launched in April 2024: ask us for our social links

This is a mission for one or two people (couple or friends) to prepare online content. You will choose archive pictures then write text for stories and posts, and storyboards for reels and short videos. You will work in English or in French to go along with our archive pictures. You will work remotely (Whatsapp, email, Zoom...) with a team of 3 people.

This means 20 hours a week needed from each of you. You decide on your schedule. The main thing is to deliver the contents every week and ensure we regularly sync up. This means you can make plans to visit Provence, Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) and the Southern Alpes!

This can be done from your cellphone or tablet from anywhere!
