Area: Hawke's BayWe are an older couple who have travelled extensively and live in a large home in the very attractive Hawkes Bay village of Havelock North. All six adult children have left home and spread around NZ and Australia. We are NON smokers, keen readers (with a reasonable library), chess player, kayaker, bush trampers and enjoy the company of young travellers. This is the heart of the wine and food district, sunny and warm climate for most of the year with a very long and interesting coastline. We have a large 2 storey house with spare bedrooms and a larger urban garden plus two holiday rental lodges we built in 2010 which are located in a stunning coastal site an hour or so south of our home. There is always some maintenance work to do at both properties of a more or less light nature so could suit a young guy or a couple of young ladies travelling around NZ from overseas, looking for a short stay to discover our region and improve their language skills.
Area: LombardyNote: I am booked for the rest of the season with helpers and friends visiting. You can still write if you wish in case I have a cancelation. *************** I always need help with my boats. I have three small boats (two are wood), and I am now completing a pontoon boat. They are more difficult than children to keep clean and happy. I also have small home projects to do. I am a retired dual citizen American/Italian with an apartment in Italy in a beautiful small village of 100 people a few minutes from Lake Como and thirty minutes from Lugano, Switzerland. Any non-smoker of any age is welcome to come help, and on free time to explore this beautiful area alone or with me. If the weather is good we can spend some time on both Lake Como and Lake Lugano in my boats. I have hosted many CouchSurfers, WorkaWayers and HelpXers who seem to have enjoyed their stays. My wood boats, one a 1932 Lucia, the 6 meter traditional boat of Lake Como, and the other a small Gozzo from the Ligurian coast, need continuing maintenance. The Lucia was completely restored last year. The Gozzo needs the usual maintenance, and is on Lake Como this summer, ready for fun. I also have a small motorboat which is ready to use on Lake Lugano. This is an extremely beautiful area. My village borders an enormous nature preserve with hiking trails, and of course there are the lakes Como and Lugano. You can reach me by bus from either the city of Como or the Swiss city of Lugano.
