    Description

I live in a rural location in West Cork with my daughter who is 28 years old and works full-time in the nearby town of Clonakilty. My son who is 25 is at home some of the time but not all the time. We are 15 minutes to the beach in Rosscarbery, 15 minutes to Skibbereen and Dunmanway and ten minutes to the bus stop where you can travel to Cork City or farther South. We are happy to provide lifts to the bus stop, or occasionally drive you somewhere. We will work your plans around our schedule.
Most importantly, I am a beekeeper and I can only take people who are not allergic to bees. If you are interested in bees, I am happy to pass on some of my experience and perhaps take you to one of the bee events I attend, if the timelines work out.
We have two dogs who are part of the family, and we can only take dog lovers although taking care of the dogs or walking them is not something we would ask a Workawayer to do.
In terms of work, I mainly need help in the garden. I have a polytunnel which has been somewhat neglected and a number of flower and vegetable beds which need maintaining. Weeding in the orchard area needs doing also as well as various other tasks like strimming some long grass areas, as they come up. A certain amount of housework is also needed and Workaways will be asked to spend some time inside doing general housework, usually hoovering. If the weather is not suitable for outdoor jobs, I may ask you to do some housework instead (nothing too strenuous). I would might need help cleaning bee equipment in my honey house that can also be done on rainy days. I have a big house with little storage, so some rooms may need to be cleared out and stuff organised, that kind of thing.
I ask that you do 5 hours a day, 5 days a week and I am as flexible as you are in terms of how you want to arrange the hours. If you prefer to do longer days and have more time off, I'm happy for you to do that and use the house as a base for your adventures for the remaining days. In terms of food, we do not eat meat every day. Dinner will be provided daily and breakfast and lunch will be help-yourself. We enjoy sharing meals and getting to know people from other cultures. If you like cooking you are more than welcome to cook!

Two dogs are comfortably lying on a red blanket-covered couch. One dog is brown brindle, the other light cream, both looking cozy and relaxed together.
A smiling woman in a yellow top stands beside a wooden observation beehive filled with bees, inside a tent at what appears to be a fair or exhibition.
