We are looking for easy-going individuals, couples or families that have a great work ethic and attitude. We can train interested parties in the skills we need and in the winter we don't do any outdoor work other than gathering wood so work is indoors between November and February. We would love to have handy folks who know their way around a hammar, saw, ruler and spackle, but it is not necessary. There is always a lot to do here and the best thing our volunteers have is a willingness to do new things!
Langues parlées
English, Swedish, French, some German and Spanish
Logement
Our volunteers can stay in their own apartment in the main house which has one large bedroom, large kitchen with all ammenities, separate bathroom and shower room and a bright living room. Heating in our large home is with wood so it is not always as warm as a modern home, but it is spacious, clean with large windows throughout.
Autres choses...
Great opportunity to live in nature among the flora and fauna. Beavers, foxes, owls, moose are our neighbors.

Amy, Tomas and the girls were very welcoming. I stayed with them for 3 weeks in January and was the only workaway there at the time. I had a lot of time to myself which suited me well but Amy and Tomas made every effort to include me in their plans such as movie nights, the open mic night and fun in the snow. I was given a very cozy room with a more
In November I workawayed here with the lovely resident family! It was one of my best volunteering experiences. The setting was amazing, and so was the house, and so were the hosts! And I was very happy to be able to be creative and do some painting, basically all over the place. I had a great time up there and would recommend it to anyone! Thank more
I spent half a month here and it was an awesome experience. Thomas and Amy were really great people and made me feel at home right from the beginning and I got to take part in some truly unique experiences like the charcoal making. The work was varied and there was always something to do whatever your particular skillset and the house is located more
Mikklos left a great impression here that will last for some time. Our doors are awesome and his red lentil curry is famous (but still need the recipe, Mikklos). He was a great independant worker towards the end of our season and willing to try new jobs with enthusiasm and interest. We are grateful for all his hard work and his easy-going more
I spent 2 weeks here with Tomas, Amy, Frida, PJ and Amy's niece. I had a really good time. They are great persons and I felt at home with them. I did a lot of gardening and and some painting, and it was a pleasure to work for them and make their house better. They totally fit the philosophy of this website which is about meeting people more than more
Baptiste was a hard worker and a good sport when it came to the new jobs we offered him (he was also flexible with some our meals that didn't turn out so good as well!). Come spring we now have a great vegetable patch ready thanks to his efforts and we are very thankful for the headstart. Good luck and safe travels Baptiste!
From he moment I set foot in Tomas & Amy's home, I felt comfortable. My month in Sweden was spent laughing, learning, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. The house is stunning, and often filled with the scent of fresh bread straight from the oven. Tomas & Amy proved to be terrific hosts, and their two beautiful daughters ensured there was never a more
Emily was a great addition to the family. She jumped right in to a variety of tasks (childcare, hard labor, administrative, etc) all with the same enthusiasm and great smile. She got us much closer to being able to start our business by giving me time to focus on my work and by designing our website! We'll take her back anytime. Good luck with more
I had a really great time here. It was a very positive environment, a great working experience and alot fun. They have a beautiful home in a very beautiful area of Sweden. If you like hiking or swimming, then you wont be disapointed. I would defnately love to go back someday.
Without Josh, we would be without a lot of great, solid craftmanship in our home and we'd be without a beautiful wood fence that keeps our children safe. Josh has so many skills to offer: he is a skilled student of carpentry, a great artist and a mean cook (with wild mushroom omletes). We are grateful for his hard work and easy going attitude. more
I had an absolutely wonderful time in Sweden with Amy, Tomas and family. They were wonderful hosts providing a fun environment for work. It was great to get an insight into the arts project and how they would like it to develop in the future, and they were always supportive and encouraging about the range of work that was contributed. Beautiful more
Laura was a joy to have in our home. She was great at working with somewhat monotonous projects and excellent with any sort of creative projects. She left behind her mark and we're grateful! Thanks Laura!
I truly had a great time there! My work was highly appreciated and I was very well fed! ;)
Thanks for the beauty of your home and family, the wonderful taste's of Sweden, and the inspiration.
I saw the beaver for a second! (there is a river next to the house!)
But I will have to come back for a Moose viewing....

Clarissa was one of our best volunteers who became a good friend in the process. She is extremely helpful, innovative and energetic. She works great alone or with groups and loves the challenges of our (sometimes) chaotic environment.
Clarissa also has extensive real life work experience and excells with physically demanding projects, but more

I am just back from Sweden and want to go back!!

David was willing to do a large range of projects, from building a bar for our cafe to fixing our toaster with his experience from his engineering background. We couldn't have asked for a better volunteer, plus anyone who comes in the colder months automatically gets additional points. We're rooting for you David!
Tim was a great worker, conscientious, a self starter, and pleasant to be around. He was very courteous and responsible in our home and he quickly adjusted to our family and became an important part of it in no time. We whole-heartedly can recommend Tim for any work position as he has an excellent work ethic and is very personable, friendly and more
So…here we go.
This was the first time I did a workaway project and I’m very glad I’d chose this place to go to. Tomas and Amy are very good hosts who make you feel at home.
