Description
I am looking for enthusiastic, helpful people to stay with me in my large house in a village in SW France (named Tillac). I have a very friendly young dog, two cats and a very large garden.
I also have young grand-children who visit me often.
Music is my passion and I organise regular music-concerts in the summer months which keeps me very busy. I need help in my garden with lawnmowing,weeding and general maintenance, and in the house with house work; maintenance and painting. The dog also likes to go for a walk around the scenic village.
Tillac is a small, quiet village but the local community is very friendly and there are opportunities to be part of life in a French village. Many of my friends also host workaway visitors so there is a good network of "workawayers" in Tillac and surrounding villages and there may be opportunities to get together with other workawayers for dinners, movie nights, bike rides etc. The area has regular food markets and other activities; Tillac has a small grocery shop, butcher and restaurant- all a 2 minute walk from the house.
I have lived in France for 50 years, so would love to offer assistance to anyone interested in learning French. My mother language is German and I also speak reasonable English .
I offer full board and lodging - I have many bedrooms and three seperate bathrooms, available I enjoy cooking for my guests. I am open to couples or individual visitors for any length of time.

I spent July staying with verena and had an amazing time. I enjoyed working with her and doing jobs for her. Right from the moment I arrived here I was made to feel very welcome and felt at home straight away! Verena is such a friendly and welcoming woman. I agree with Lewis, you just feel at home at her place. I had a great time working in the garden and playing with her amazing grandchildren. On top I was given the chance to get to know the musicians staying at Verena's and to listen to their fabulous concerts. It was a great opportunity to practise more
I spent nearly 8 weeks with Verena and had a wonderful time. I really liked working for her in the garden or helping with her grandchildren or the organisation of some great classical concerts. She is such a friendly, welcoming and open-minded person that I can just recommend every Workawayer this place to go to, it will feel like home for you. more
We spent a great five weeks at Verenas beautiful home and would recommend her most highly to anyone considering Workaway. She is a talented cook and we were able to enjoy some wonderful lunches and dinners with her. She has a great enthusiasm for life, is intelligent, considerably cultured and has many interesting friends as well as two great pets more
Garreth and Paula were very nice guests and hard workers. Garreth did an important work in my garden and Paula was very helpful in the house with painting and maintenance and also helping in the garden.

Mark and I spent 5 weeks with Verena in her lovely home and had a great time with her. She's a generous and incredible host.
