I am Viv, a 49 yo mother of two (son 21 and daughter 19) married to Ian, a motor mechanic and jack of many trades 50 yrs old. I work as an animal attendant at RSPCA part time, my husband also works part time. We are owner builders, but nearly finished. We live on 47 acres where we have numerous domestic and farm animals. I have travelled Europe and my family enjoy interests such as, music & theatre, film, playing instruments and singing, learning languages, animal husbandry, solar living, growing predominantly organic meat, old engines, reading, horse riding, motorbikes, wildlife care, and attempting to reduce our environmental impact. At times, when we holiday, my mum (71 yo) looks after the place and would certainly love having company and some help. She has her own house 10 minutes away and could use some help gardening. Any work done there would be included in the allotted hours..not extra. We laugh alot and do not have strict rules of ettiquette,

Travail
Types of work are, building, farming (general), animal care, general maintenance and gardening. Possibly some fencing if mutually agreeable. Generally, just a helping hand. Nothing will be asked of you that you feel is beyond your abilities. We like to correspond via email before a visit so that we and our workawayer can get an idea of what to expect.

English, average chinese, a little french, a little italian, some german and some spanish.
Logement
At present you will have a bed in the house of your own, sometimes twin share, with shower and toilet facilities shared. Meals would naturally be taken with the family. We eat all kinds of foods and different styles of cooking. We are entirely solar powered, also a wind turbine, tank water too. But we do have a normal phone and internet access. Television etc. We also have sound equipment if our visitor is into playing an instrument. If staying with my mum, a room of your own, double bed, shared bathroom facilities and simple home cooked meals. You must like dogs.

Alice and jordan spent two weeks caring for my animals, following to the letter everything they had been asked to do. They were hard working and helpful and it was a pleasure getting to know them. I wish them all the very best in their future travels.
Jordan and I had a fantastic time staying with Viv's lovely and welcoming Mum Lesley whilst we cared for the animals on Viv's farm when she & her family were on holiday. It was an absolute pleasure looking after the animals and we learnt so much. We're missing Diablo & the dogs already! Thanks for the lovely barbeque when you got back and letting more
Lyndsay and I had a wonderful time staying with Viv and her family. They made us feel like part of the family and we will be keeping in touch for a long time! They made our experience in Australia a great one and included us in so many new experiences. Anyone would be lucky to stay with them.
