Area: VictoriaA little (almost organic) market garden specialising in rare and unusual fruits and vegetables and selling at local farmers markets. I am dedicated to promoting home food growing in the general community. We are situated in a small rural town in Victoria. I am especially happy to have helpers who love getting their hands in the dirt and have a future dream of building their own plant based business or market garden and am willing to provide teaching of all facets of food growing and selling to anyone who is interested, along with accomodation and meals in return for a few hours work each day. Work could include: Weeding, helping at the markets, harvesting, seed saving, hand pollinating, planting and more. I like variety in my work and offer that to all helpers. Small cabin for one or two people and meals with the family. No smokers or drinkers please. International helpers must have own insurance and current work visa as well as being respectful and speaking English. There is a bus service from Melbourne or Mt Gambier to get here and plenty of activities for your days off including bushwalking, local pool and bus to nearby towns and shops, sightseeing. Internet available. Washing water is restricted in the warmer months and unless we get rain, there may only be enough for two or three showers a week in summer.
Area: QueenslandHi, my name is Peter. I have lived in Agnes Water for around 16 years. I have a small property on the outer edge of the small Agnes Water township. I have been a host with other similar organisations for about 4 years and have hosted people from many countries such as France, Germany, England, Austria, Brazil, America, South Korea, China, Japan, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Israel and Belgium. I like to spend time with my visitors and get to know them. I particularly like to help people to improve their English and show them around the local area. Agnes Water is a small coastal town about half way between Bundaberg and Gladstone in Queensland. The attractions here are the quiet, laid back type lifestyle, Kangaroos, Uncrowded and Secluded golden sandy Beaches, Swimming, Sunbathing, Surfing, Fishing, Great Barrier Reef access and National parks. There are some great coastal bush walks that weave their way along the beaches and rocky headlands to take in the stunning coastal scenery. (The secluded beaches here are great for private/nude, sunbathing/tanning and swimming with nobody around). I like to take my visitors to these beaches so that they can enjoy this freedom. Some of them have really appreciated having opportunity to swim or lay in the sun without the need for a bathing suit. (During the warmer months (September - May) I would only like visitors to be comfortable with spending time nude at the beach during their stay here). After receiving much interest in the clothes-free experiences I now also offer for you to be clothes-free in my home. (Clothes-free indoors but due to having neighbours should wear clothing while doing any outdoor work). (I only want visitors that are open-minded enough to try being natural and clothes-free during their stay here). I often help my visitors with their English while spending time on the beach with them. (I am happy to host nudists) I like to help my visitors to experience as many of the above activities as possible. I have a large DVD collection and I have found that watching movies with my visitors can be very helpful with improving their English skills. I often watch a movie with my visitors after an evening meal. If you like nature, quiet places, the environment, the beach, swimming in the ocean or the idea of relaxing without your bathing suit on a secluded beach, then there is much for you to see and experience in this area. (I've had a few people here now that do not like to spend any time on the beach or are not interested having the chance to swim in the ocean. If this is your attitude - than my place is not the place for you. Agnes Water is a beach-side community and has some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia and is a great place to go for a swim in the ocean). The water temperature is suitable for swimming all year round. (20 - 23 degrees in July - the coldest time of the year). During the summer months, Sea Turtles come ashore on the local beaches for nesting. I am happy to take people out to observe this during December and January.
Area: LisbonI am early retired from a high pressure job in the UK and living simply with two traditionally built Portuguese houses in a beautiful spot overlooking the Obidos Lagoon between the town of Caldas da Rainha and the seaside resort of Foz do Arelho. I have three dogs and two horses at home and work part time as an equestrian professional. We have a large garden and veg patch which I would love to be better tended and old properties always require maintenance.
Area: TasmanOur business is a family run country garden cafe, judged New Zealand's best cafe 2013. We have built all the eco buildings on site ourselves over the last 23 years and our business has a strong ecological foundation. We require help in the cafe and also in our organic gardens and with other projects We are a hard working and fun loving couple and are looking for the same ethic in our volunteers. We have seperate accommodation for a couple and you will be expected to share cooking of evening meals at home. Close to beaches and on route to the Able Tasman National park. Own transport a definite advantage as there is very limited bus service. We will reply to all emails within 2 days and expect the same so we can efficiently manage volunteers, thanks.
