Area: EnglandMy name is Tanya Sherriff and I live in the lovely town of Frome in the county of Somerset with my daughter Maya who is 9, my son Emrys who is 3 and my husband Alan. Frome is a fantastic place and has a unique alternative community of creative people (Artist’s, Musicians, Writers, poets and crafts people) It has lots going on in the local pubs, it has a great music venue called the Cheese and Grain, has lots of art galleries, markets and independent shops. The town has a 10 day festival in 5th - 14th July 2013 (google Frome Festival) and many interest groups that meet. (It was voted the second coolest place in the UK to live recently!) I run a not for profit business with a good friend. We have been really successful in gaining funding and also have secured contracts to run confidence building courses for vulnerable adults using African Drumming and percussion. We also run a monthly Family Drum Circle, a Women’s Healing Drum Circle and do various workshops and sessions teaching drumming and having fun with drum circles, percussion and music in general . I also play the trumpet in the Frome Street Bandits, which is community band that turn up and play on the streets of Frome with an aim to make people dance, laugh and have fun! Frome is in the ‘West Country’ and is 2.5 hours from London by train, its 2 hours from Devon, and about 20 miles away you will find the historic city of Bath, the big city of Bristol, and Glastonbury with its amazing Tor. I have a few friends locally who also have Workawayers so we could get together and you could meet others if that is what you wanted. We are a vegetarian family and don't like meat in the house. I will provide your basic food and I cook a hot meal in the evening (or you could cook if you wanted for us!) You would help yourself to breakfast and lunch unless I am cooking anyway. Maya goes to a Steiner Waldorf School and we try to follow a Steiner way of life and try to bring our children up to be confident and respected. We would be really happy to share our home, friends and the wider community with you in exchange for 5 hours work. I am flexible on work arrangements and happy for you to work 5 hours a day or do longer days and take more days off. Usually Monday to Friday would be work days but again flexible to suit what works for you too. I have a good bike you can use to cycle around as well! Being able to speak good English is essential so that you can understand my daughter and she can understand you.

The variety of species of birds, birds of prey (including imperial eagle) insects & wildlife is outstanding. We are lucky enough to live at the foothills of the Strandja, which hold historical backgrounds. Venturing on walks, we have come across 5 lots of army bunkers, some of which date back to Roman times. We have also found various coins, rings & artifacts, while digging the garden, which is always a nice bonus. There are also local Thracian burial grounds, where the wealthy were burried with their treasures. I really enjoy writing & have wrote about this in a local English online newspaper. There are nearby lakes for fishing or just to admire the variety of wildlife. Bulgaria is renouned for its cultural music & dancing, which is really interesting to watch or even to join in if you brave enough to. Area: Canary Islands( PLEASE! Minimum stay 3 months!) Our hostel is a place where you enter as a stranger and you walk away being part of our family. Five globetrotters from different countries got to know each other in 2013 while sharing an apartment in Gran Canaria, and together they dreamt of creating a place where travellers would feel at home in a cheerful atmosphere with exuberant people, above all enjoying a fascinating city such as Las Palmas. The same day they visited the building located just 1 minute from the beach, they fell in love with it and signed the contract without thinking twice.
