We are a family,greek/australian with 2 daughters age 8 and 6yrs,living on an organic farm. Setting up a eco retreat,building treehouses and strawbail cottages. Permiculture gardens and some livestock. Working towards self-surficenty. If you like yoga, gardening, living in nature, building (in the trees) swimming, hiking, great food and conversation, exchanging ideas, playing with kids, arts and creating fun projects, come and join us. We eat mostly vegetarian food...as much as possible from the farm and surrounding area....we harvest wild food...and only seasonal foods are provided.

We are organic farmers with around 60 cattle.At present we are finishing a stone barn and plan to build an extension to our house. Living in our house is myself and my husband three grown up sons,2 super cute dogs and a cat. We have a veggie garden also. Across the road is a large forest with beautiful walks and stunning scenery. We live 14 miles from Cavan and Monaghan towns. The closest town is two miles away and we can provide you with bikes. We are looking for people to help with the building and maybe in the farm. There are various other jobs available also,depending on your abilities.From September we will have a Finnish student staying with us to improve her English. Everybody in the house has a keen interest in Music and attend regular music sessions. Next door is an Outdoor Recreation centre where some of the boys work and they have a sailing boat,they take regular trips camping,climbing,canoeing,kakaying etc. If you would like to help us out for minimum one month give us a shout and we will email more detailed information.

Saying this we are a community based project and if youwant to do something interesting which benefits nature ( the rainforest) and also benefit the local people..then CHEERS! read on.. Thank you for expressing interest in coming to assist us on our island. We are located off the coast of Sao Paulo State. To find background information on the area you can research online using: Ilha das Couves..Sao Sebastiao..Sao Paulo Brazil We are a private island and have no fulltime residents. We usually have between 2-4 volunteers with us at any given time. To date we have had over 40 volunteers come to us from over 16 different countries. While you stay with us we will provide sleeping accomodation either in side our two bedroom home, in a tent or in a hammock under the stars. The choice will be yours. We are improving living arrangements and currently live off the grid and as naturally as possible. This is a primative life style. You need to want to get away from all the hussle and stress that the modern world offers. We do require a minimum stay of 1 month. We do so because it will take a week or so for you to adjust to your surroundings and then you will really be productive for the next two weeks. Your final week will be mostfulling. As a foreigner you will be able to stay in Brazil for no more than 6 months. We can discuss longer stays than 1 month..based upon availability. For those volunteers that are interested immersing in the Portuguese languauge you will have ample time to exchange in discussions with the locals. While on the island we will expect 5-6 hours a day of physical participation. We have many mini projects that need to be done. Most of what you will be doing is outdoor: clearing hiking trails, cleaning beach and coast, working in our permaculture gardens, gathering fruits and vegetables, minor building and construction, working with bamboo, art work, and daily house hold duties (washing, cleaning, keeping things organized). We prefer that volunteers pick tasks that they enjoy doing rather than us telling people what to do. We treat everyone as adults. We provide basic food and we expect everyone to share in preparation and cleaning. We will have items available for purchase. As you can imagine because we are an island food and beverage here is expensive to purchase and transport. You will have the option to travel back to the mainland as you need to. The cost is 40 reais ( 20$ ) and this service is provided by local fishermen. We do not profit from the boat service. We are a short distance from land..about 1.5 miles. Not far, but too far to swim..we will help you communicate with the boat taxi as necessary. Weather permitting..safety comes first. While on the mainland you will be on your own for food, transportation and lodging. Upon your request we can recommend services. From Sao Paulo you can reach us by bus. It is about a 4 hour trip.
