Area: Near Oslo, but quiet and peacefulVarious work for long or short term stay. The campsite has a beautiful location by the Oslo fjord, approximately 30 minutes drive from Oslo. The site is owned by the Norwegian YMCA-YWCA. I´ts about 13 acres large and has 500 metres shoreline, lots of fruit trees and other vegetation and a soccer field. It was originally a residence for a wealthy businessman from Oslo in 1901 and was founded as a campsite in 1941/42. The work varies with the seasons and will consist of everything from kitchen work, gardening, painting indoors and outdoors, carpentry, tidying, organizing, cleaning and generally maintenance. We are also looking for a carpenter that can do the job we don't know how to. There are lots of different buildings that need different care. The work is mostly independent (or with other helpers) and you make your own day. We usually make a list of work to be done, and you are sometimes free to pick out your preferences. There will be cleaning, tidying and gardening during the autumn as well as general maintenance and some painting. You will sleep in a cabin or a caravan, either alone or together with another helper. We have wi-fi and a dinosaur lap top (as long as it lives) for volunteers to use. You are also welcome to use our bicycles, boats and kayaks to check out our beautiful surroundings. A pair of old cross country skis for the winter experience, always a fun challenge for beginners:-) You will make your own food (we provide basic food you would like to eat) and you are expected to keep all common areas clean and tidy to make the place look nice for our guests. We wish from you to take initiative, be dependable, self- propelled, be proud of the work that you do, and of course- friendly:-) er. We're looking forward to hearing from you! Best regards, Marianna & Martin with our two sons, a dog, 3 cats, one rooster and the hens:-)
