We are looking for energetic dreamers to trade work for a shared room or private tent at our drop dead gorgeous former B&B, the headquarters of our intentional art community.
We seek to create world-class art by applying monastic principles to art-making instead of religion. We are transforming a monastery 45-minutes NE of Rome, in Umbria, into an international non-proft arts production center. While the monastery is under construction, we are running a prototype of the community , just 5 minutes from the monastery. We run workshops and offer accommodations at the Guest House to support our production of art projects.

Work
Most of the work we need help with is maintaining the grounds: watering and weeding our organic vegetable garden, pruning and harvesting the olive trees, cleaning the pool, cleaning the guest rooms, caring for our 5 chickens, and sometimes help organizing concerts and artistic productions. We always love help from people who can do Italian/English translation.

Accommodation
We offer a shared room at our luxurious former B&B (If you are the only volunteer, you have the room to yourself!). In the warm months, it is also possible to camp in the olive grove.
What else ...
We are a community of professional artists and we speak English pretty much all the time. We invite you to join us in meditation and nature walks but this is certainly not required or even expected. We are always looking for future long-term community members, so if you really fit in, there is that potential. We have 5 chickens, 1 cat, and 600 olive trees.

It was in November, so not much going on with guests and programs, just being at the Casale was wonderful, and my hosts were welcoming and friendly. They had me cleaning, and working in the garden, and caring for the chickens. I highly recommend this place! -Wendy
