Area: Coimbra and CenterWe bought an old Manor house and need a lot of help to do 'building', maintenance and other jobs, some more complicated than others and are looking for somebody with experience who might be interested in a working holiday in exchange for room and full board in a beautiful, and peaceful corner of Central Portugal, near the historical city of Tomar. The list of work seems endless, but the money unfortunately not. We had some major works done by professional builders, but due to high quotes, have to do more ourselves, just to get the work done. We are friendly, genuine guys (one German and South African) , both 46, married to each other for 15 years with bags of enthusiasm and hope to offer you something special in return for your efforts.
Area: MunsterOur site is in a lovely rural area, lifts to the nearest town and some evenings out would be possible. We are about 10 km from the sea. We are 5 km from the town of Skibbereen. We are trying to create a vegetable garden(we do have a polytunnel). We also offer self catering and B&B accommodation, as well as starting up a fitness retreat ( which will be organised and run by our son Marc). Des is a local musician/singer and sings in local pubs. We are looking for a couple to help with general housework, shopping & helping in hostel when we are busy, gardening and general maintainance. Heidi likes outdoors and works full time as a social worker. It would be helpful if you have your own transport, but not necessary if you don't mind that we are in the country. There are 2 bikes you can use. We have 1 dog (who needs a lot of walking) and 1 very friendly cat. We believe in fair exchange and will not ask for too many hours. You will have a room in the house.
Area: Nelson & BaysHi, We are the Spratt family and have four children ages twenty two, eighteen, five and three. We live on a farm at Lower Moutere New Zealand which is at the top of the south island about 35 minute drive from Nelson City and 8 minutes from Motueka town. Close to our home are many fabulous beaches, rivers and larger towns and the area we live in would suit people who enjoy rural life, sea, sun, and outdoor activities. Motueka has a population of 7,000 that doubles in the summer months with tourists. It is a very popular holiday destination due to the fabulous summer climate, stunning scenery, walks, beaches and is the gateway to both the Kahurangi and Abel Tasman national parks. Motueka was also voted as New Zealand's top town 2013. We moved here from England in 2005 and love everything New Zealand has to offer but also understand what it like to move to another country being away from family and friends. We love the outdoor lifestyle and spend our free time farming, gardening, walking, biking, fishing, etc. We also love family days out to the beach. Our home has five bedrooms with a big living area/kitchen/dining. Additionally to this we have a new self contained wing of the house with a large bedroom/living room, 2nd bedroom, bathroom/toilet which would be your accommodation which you would share the bathroom with our aupair who sleep in the 2nd bedroom of this wing. Our Aupair lives with us and cares for the children whilst we are at work. We have a large fully-fenced garden with lovely outside seating and areas, vegetable gardens and spa. Beyond the fencing are further beautiful gardens that have 3 large ponds and lots of wildlife. The farm has 26acres with large sheds, 33 cows, 9 chickens, 4 ducks, 1 dog and 2 cats. The area we live in is ideal for walking, running and cycling as is relatively flat and very scenic. We are a very easy-going family and are used to having people living with us for quite long periods as we have occasional overseas visitors and Au Pairs for the last 5 yrs. We would expect five hrs of work each day, general helping around meal times etc. meals and in return we can offer a food and accommodation in a home in the best area in New Zealand, flexible hours and an easy-going relaxed family atmosphere.
