VOLUNTEERS DURING TOURIST SEASON APRIL - OCTOBER
We are looking for volunteers who preferably have a big interest, qualifications or experience within hospitality or have worked in hotels or hostels or similiar tourism environment. This is important to us because we have paying guests staying with us with an expectation of good, friendly, helpful customer service and continuously nice and clean accommodation, and facilities. We are proud that we provide excellent customer care and lovely accommodation and expect our volunteers to want to do the same. If you do not like or are not good at cleaning, toilets, showers and bedmaking, cleaning rooms and kitchens then we are not for you. But if you dont mind this type of work and can cook as well, and a big bonus if you can make any type of cake to sell to our guests that would be really great! We welcome anyone with a flair for interior design and making nice touches so things look lovely for our guests such as honeymoon and romantic stays as they are popular with us. So the focus is hospitality and cleaning, housekeeping, bedmaking, a small amount of watering the garden and weeding and helping our guests. If you have childcare care qualifications (mandatory) and experience and happy to baby sit for our guests you could receive a little pocket money from our guests. Tips are shared out with the volunteers and Managers so if you do a great job cleaning, making the Tipis nice and being helpful towards our guests they can leave good tips in the tip jar! Hours of work May - Oct are either 8 am to 1 pm or 2 - 6 pm (cleaning toilets and showers, cleaning and bed making, making up Tipis), and 2 or 3 times a week 6pm to 7 pm to watering garden, cleaning toilets and showers) Once a week we ask you to help prepare BBQ night with the Managers which you get to enjoy eating the yummy food and drink and socialise with other volunteers and guests.

There is free wifi, so bring your lap top, a pool table, table football, plenty of card and board games, books to read and swap, chill out lounge plays music, hammocks, great hiking and walks near by , a large lake nearby, and a very friendly dog and cats. ... and a swimming pool to enjoy!
There is a local bus service at the end of the track to Portimao on the coast with great beaches, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops ets and to the lovely green mountains of the old town of Monchique. A taxi will cost between €12-18. We have local restaurants nearby within a 10 to 15 minute walk.
We ask that you have your own health insurance and give us a contact number of your next of kin in case of any emergencies. We only usually like to accept helpers who are willing to stay a minimum of three weeks, possibly a little less, but prefer longer such as a month. We do not accept volunteers for one week because it takes two to three days to train. This is non negotiable, so please do not ask! Please once you decide to come, commit to your decision because it takes time and energy to organise volunteers accommodation and work and in the past we have had to write "no show" on the profiles of the volunteers who never arrived.
So if you are interested in spending some time with us, able to commit to the dates you can come, don't mind working hard when needed and want to have fun in the sun, in a cool, chilled out enviroment, can smile often and laugh lots then contact us. We have a strict no drugs policy and people who have problems with alcohol please do not come to us. Smoking is strictly outside only. We encourage a healthy, laid back vibe.. we are not a party animal kind of place.
