We are a non-profit sustainable living initiative inside Palestine which aims to establish an grassroots environmental movement. We feel that sustainable living is an essential non-violent tool to help Palestinians resist the Israeli Occupation. Our project combines permaculture with social activism and sustainable living with the hope of empowering Palestinians.

At our place, we feel that all volunteers have something to contribute. Our volunteers do not need any specific experience or education. All that is required is the desire to work hard and help Palestine. Volunteers generally help with everything on the farm...sustainable agriculture, eco-building, recycling and repurposing materials, general cleaning, cooking, helping with community projects, and everything inbetween.
Volunteers will sleep in our 8 bed, mixed-gender dorm which has electricity, but not wireless internet access. It is worth mentioning that the style of living here is rustic. We only use a compost toilet, and we suggest that volunteers bring mosquito nets, mosquite repellent, and sleeping bags (From November to April).
Because we are a non-profit with no reliable outside funding sources, we do ask our volunteers for a reasonable weekly payment. The weekly payment includes food/coffee/tea, and wireless internet is available in common areas of the house.
In third world countries (Where most hosts are involved in charity work or community development) some of our hosts may ask for a small donation to help the host family or charity (often less then 5 dollars per day) Workaway will allows this listing when the donation goes directly to the family or charity and is just to cover the cost of the volunteers stay. (This will be clearly marked on the host listing).
We will strictly not allow listings posted by agents or “middle men” or projects who we feel are looking to profit from a volunteers stay.
